New Hampshire chickens are a popular and reliable breed known for their high egg production and meat quality, making them a versatile dual-purpose bird. Bred for both egg-laying and meat production, New Hampshire chickens are an excellent choice for backyard poultry keepers who want both a steady supply of brown eggs and a robust bird for meat. These hardy chickens are well-suited to a variety of climates, thriving in both cold winters and hot summers, making them an ideal choice for year-round egg production. New Hampshire hens typically start laying eggs at around 18-20 weeks of age and continue to lay consistently throughout the year, providing a steady supply of brown eggs for your family. Known for their calm and friendly temperament, New Hampshire chickens are easy to handle, making them great for families and novice chicken keepers. Their strong, active foraging abilities also make them perfect for free-range environments, though they adapt well to confined coops as well. With their striking reddish-brown plumage and efficient feed-to-egg conversion, New Hampshire chickens are as beautiful as they are productive. Whether you're raising chickens for egg production, meat, or both, New Hampshire chickens are a fantastic choice. Their hardiness, friendly nature, and versatility make them a valuable addition to any backyard flock.Guarantee of 90% accuracy on all sexed poultry.

Q: How accurate are the baby chick sex type? Male is the only option available to select, is this because the sex type is no accurate and may have 50/50 on male and female… or will we absolutely get 10 male baby chicks?

Q: In my studies, have learned of salmonella. Does this hatchery take precautions against contamination? Any guarantees against salmonella contamination?
4 years ago- A: To be NPIP certified there are strict measures in place to be sure to keep flocks healthy and test regularly against contamination. We conform to all the testing and biosecurity measures to keep our flocks and our customers safe and healthy. There is no guarantee unfortunately with Salmonella, but cooking your eggs thoroughly and washing your hands any time you handle poultry will keep you healthy.4 years agoHelpful?
Q: You mail them right out if hatching. Does that mean I am going to need a heat source for these chick?!?
4 years ago- A: We hatch and ship our chicks the same day to get them to you as quickly as possible for the best start! All baby poultry will need a heat source, even if you live in a warmer climate, as they need to maintain a constant temperature and night-time temps get too cool for them. You can check out our education site at www.flockjourney.com for more poultry care information.4 years agoHelpful?
