Our bags are made from multi-layer plastic, designed to provide strength, tear resistance, and moisture protection which are all important qualities for preserving feed quality. While the bags are technically recyclable, local recycling programs vary widely, and not all municipalities accept this type of material. We recommend checking with your local recycling provider to confirm whether they accept multi-layer plastic packaging. a year ago- A: Thank you for the question. Nature's Best Organic Egg Layer Pellet is a complete feed. No additional calcium (oyster shells) is needed; but it can be offered in a separate feeder, the birds will self regulate this as needed. If the birds are only consuming the pellets, no grit is needed. If the birds are given table scraps or any food other than the pellets, they should have separate grit available to them (this helps with digestion of food that has husks/shells etc that haven't already been ground up).
