Q: I have a 120 outlet next to my gate. Do I need the battery and solor panels or can I just plug it in
a year ago- A: The system is operated by a 12 V battery. The plus is a transformer to charge the battery. You can just plus that in and it will keep your battery charged. The solar panel does the same thing, except it charges the battery using the solar panel. If you still have questions please call Tech Support, they can be reached at 1-800-543-1236 M-F 8am-7pm and Sat 10am-6pm EST.a year agoHelpful?
Q: I have a MM372W unit, FM123 Solar panel, and a 12v 8mAH battery. I'm getting 19volts going into the board from the solar panel, but then the battery cables from the board to the battery are only outputting ~100mV so batteries are dying. Please help...
a year ago- A: USDArocker - Can you call Mighty Mule Tech Service and give them your contact phone number? I've got some possible answers from the Tech folks, but I want them to talk to you directly, they have a TechSee feature that they can see what you are seeing in real time and work this out for you. They can be reached at 800-543-1236 M-F 8am-7pm and Sat 10am-6pm EST.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Why does it recommend a gate without a wheel?
a year ago- A: Hallie - Yes, we recommend no wheel on the gate. This is because the MM Gate Operator will provide enough force to open or close your gate, and the wheel is not needed. The wheel oftentimes can be an impediment to opening and closing your gate because if the wheel hits even a small impediment along the way like a rock or stick it will automatically back up.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Instead of using an idiot phone, can i still use the manual gate opener button that used to come with the mighty mule gate openers
2 years ago- A: Karen - as noted below yes you can. The Remote included in your Mighty Mule Kit will operate the Gate Opener.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can vehicle garage/gate buttons be linked to the openers so you don’t need to carry around a remote?
2 years ago- A: BeaP - Yes you can pair those buttons. To do this initially you'll need to Transmitter/Remote to pair the buttons (not done by the Control Board). It is HomeLink(R) compatible if you have that technology in your vehicle. If you need help, please call the Tech Line (with TechSee feature so the Tech can see what you're seeing), they can be reached at 1-800-543-1236 M-F 8am-7pm and Sat 10am-6pm EST.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can I have gates goin opposite directions opening and closing
2 years ago- A: Lisa - Interesting question but no the Operator cannot do that. Basically, the system works by counting revolutions so it would not know where it was in space and then would not open or close properly if the revolutions were going back and forth that way.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: For the dual gate opener, are 2 solar panels and 2 batteries required?
2 years ago- A: Leah PNW - It depends on the following factors to calculate the duty cycle: 1) how many openings a day, 2) your location on the map, and 3) how much sunlight you normally receive we can then forecast what you may need with our Solar Gate Activity chart. It is on Page 11 of your Installation Manual this will show the Zone areas and tell us the areas of possible sunlight collection. Zone 1 – Most Northern area and least amount of collection available = 8 cycles a day with a 10w panel. Most people are going to use the gate at least 8 cycles a day. Regardless of the Zone, we recommend a deep cycle marine battery. If they are in Zone 1 and much of Zone 2, we recommend a 2nd solar panel at a minimum. If you don’t have a 2nd panel and have a 4-5 days of storm/cloud cover, you will end up depleting the battery. Error on the side of too much collection as opposed to not enough. If you need further help our Tech Support can help you with any issues you may have from installation to troubleshooting. They can be reached at 1-800-543-1236 M-F 8am-7pm and Sat 10am-6pm EST.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: Do they come with everything necessary for installation and do you have electrical one?
3 years ago- A: The Mighty Mule kit comes with the operator arm(s), control box, mounting hardware, 1 transmitter and transformer. You will need to add a battery, it requires a 12V automotive / tractor or marine battery recommended 250 cold cranking amps. It comes with a transformer to plug into power, depending on how far you are from an outlet you might need to purchase some 16g low voltage wire to run from the control box to your outlet. If your far away from an outlet you could use a solar panel to charge the battery, you would add the solar panel FM123.3 years agoHelpful?
