Q: Some asked if this was good to use for bedding w/rabbits guinea pigs etc & they said no by listing horses etc but then another later asked if it was good 4 rabbit consumption they said yes. Why can it not b used 4 their bedding since rabbits eat bedding?

Hay for guinea pigs

Great hay for my guinea pigs! I’m allergic to Timothy hay so this works well for the piggies. It took them a couple days to get used to the new hay. Good quality for guinea pigs.

Quality going down while cost going up

Between the cost going up and the quality and weight overall going down, I can no longer recommend this product. If I had reviewed it way back when I first started purchasing it last winter (when we were in the middle of a severe hay storage), I would have given it 5 stars all the way for cost, consistently great quality & weight. Nice short fine green pieces the horses loved, leaving behind NO waste. Liked it so much, I thought about never going back to local hay. Now though, between the price increases and lack of any consistency in quality (i.e., weight, the frequent bales of super long, course, tough and often yellow strands of hay, and more seriously, pieces of synthetic twine, rocks, dried feces and even a long flattened cut up piece of plastic pipe!), I will no longer be buying this product nor do I recommend it. :(

My Two Horses Are Thriving on This Hay

I''ve been feeding this hay to my two horses for about two months. One of my horses has been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cicatrix, which is an upper respiratory inflammation possibly associated with fungi in hay and grass from the Coastal Bend of Texas. This Ametza hay is from California. Both horses like the hay and the symptoms in my cicatrix horse have disappeared. Is this part of a cure? Who knows, but it sure isn't hurting my cicatrix horse.
