Q: Will the #2425HRunit heat 600s/f space?

  • A: Hi Martin, we appreciate your question, and we understand why you’d want to be sure the LW2423HR can comfortably heat your space. With 12,000 BTU of heating capacity, this unit is designed for rooms up to 1,400 sq. ft., so heating a 600 sq. ft. area is well within its capability. One helpful step you can try is placing the unit in a central window to allow the 4‑way airflow to distribute heat more evenly. Q: I need to replace a model LW1816HR. What is the current model that is equivalent? with the same plug.

  • A: Hi there, we appreciate your question and understand how important it is to find a current LG model that matches your LW1816HR, especially with the same plug type. Both the LW1816HR and the LW2423HR use the same 240V / 20A / 3‑wire grounding receptacle, making the LW2423HR the closest current equivalent with matching electrical requirements. Before replacing, it helps to confirm your outlet is the standard 240V / 20A to ensure a direct fit. You can review the LW2423HR manual and full specifications here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-LW2423HR.AT3AUSH?tab=1 If you’d like help confirming compatibility with your setup, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. Q: does the unit require a drain tube?

  • A: Hi there, thank you for asking about the LW2423HR window air conditioner. We understand how important it is to know if a drain tube is required. This unit is designed to evaporate most condensation automatically, so a drain tube is not needed for normal operation. As a quick step, check the drain hole at the back/bottom of the unit to ensure it’s clear, especially in high humidity conditions where excess water may collect. For more guidance, please review our installation instructions here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-air-conditioner-how-to-install-a-window-air-conditioner-CT10000014-20153124842393 For any further assistance, feel free to DM us at @LGUSSupport. automatic time, remote control

The first time I purchased this air conditioner w/heat it lasted 7 years, cooled and heated my 1100 sq ft home pretty good but still had to use space heaters sometimes. I just bought my second unit, it lasted about a month; I noticed the air didn't blow as cold when I first turned it on and then started to form ice on the filter and started making a weird noise

Hi there — thank you for sharing your experience with the LW2423HR. We appreciate your continued trust in LG. Ice buildup and unusual noise may be caused by restricted airflow. Please start by checking that the air filter is clean and properly installed. Also, make sure the unit is level and securely mounted to reduce vibration and ensure proper drainage. Hi there. Thank you for reaching us. I'm so sorry to hear that your LG air conditioner, model LW2423HR, has experienced a compressor failure less than 18 months after purchase. This is unacceptable, and I can imagine how frustrating it must be to have a broken appliance in the middle of the hot summer. First and foremost, I want to apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused. We understand that our products should provide reliable cooling during the hot summer months, and it's our responsibility to ensure that they do. Please reach out to us on social media @LGUSSupport so we can help you further. ^Cris
