Whirlpool 115V Window-Mounted Air Conditioner with Remote Control, 450 sq. ft., 10,000 BTU

I received the Whirlpool 10,000 BTU 115V Window AC for free in exchange for my honest review. I couldn’t be happier with this window AC! Our west facing bedroom is no longer the hottest room in the house. It cools the space quickly and keeps it comfortable even during the peak heat of the day. One thing that really stood out is the installation kit. It’s very well designed and made the setup process easy. It fits well and feels sturdy. Absolutely worth it!

I was so happy the receive this to review in exchange for my honest opinion. I had been looking for a window ac unit for my upstairs room that leans a bit hot. This is perfect! 10,000 BTU was exactly what I was in the market for. It came in a nicely packaged box (very heavy - please use dolly), no damage. Included instructions, remote, and batteries. The remote will be handy, if only I can open it. It has a tiny screw that even my eyeglass screw kit won’t loosen. It’s Phillips head. But hopefullly I find a solution and update. The set up was pretty straightforward. Definitely a 2 person job - ar least for me. I used foam padding for insulation and to buffer any excess noise the AC might create. Might seal off more, but good for now. On a bit of the smaller size for the window I used, but definitely made it work. It has a three pronged plug (with surge safety button) ready to go to wall outlet. I am pleasantly surprised just how quiet it is. The noise helps put me to sleep actually - which is an added bonus. It has two moveable places to adjust the direction of air flow. The electronic panel is nice. Shows temperature setting, has up and down buttons to adjust temp, a low, medium & high setting toggle, timer and on/off button. I have now have it set on 76 degrees F, and it is keeping the whole room very comfortable. Will follow up on filter changes and how that goes. Also remote & tiny screw situation. If only one complaint - make placing batteries in remote more accessible by having no screw, or at least a larger one. It will be difficult for those that don’t have good grip or can’t see well up close. For now, I am very happy with the setup and pleased with the outcome!!!

Once safely placed at the desired spot, plug it in and enjoy the cool air. The setting is user friendly. No complicated buttons to press. It cools the room fast. Lastly, the sound, when turned on, is bearable.

Whirlpool has made a very sleek and efficient window-mounted air conditioner. The cooling power at 10,000 BTU is impressive and cools the medium sized room I installed it in very quickly and keeps it that way the entire time it’s on. So, this thing cools insanely well and quickly. I had an older window mounted air conditioner from another brand that I would have to leave on since it would take so long to cool when I would get home. I don’t have to leave this one on, since when I turn it on, it cools the room to a comfortable temperature within minutes. It comes with different modes that make things convenient, like an eco mode that automatically turns on when the room goes below a certain temperature, an auto mode, dehumidifier mode, fan mode, and sleep mode that will start at a cool temperature and ease off the cooling as the night goes. It also comes with a remote! I can control everything without getting up every time. I didn't realize how convenient this was since my old ac unit didn’t have a remote but now I don’t think I could ever live without one. The unit itself is also not coming into my room as much and has most of the heft left on the outside which is great to help not make my room look cluttered. I love that it comes with directional louvres that allow me to aim where the fans blow the air to. Not only do they aim side to side but also aim upwards and downwards, which is perfect because I prefer to aim mine to blow out towards the ceiling since hot air tends to rise and accumulate there. If I had to pick one con, its that each time the motor turns on to cool, it can be a little loud and abrupt, which can be a little bit of a surprise from time to time. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this unit and can see it lasting for many years to come.
