Homestead Essentials compact style nesting boxes are designed to provide a private, safe, and comfortable environment for hens, promoting egg laying while discouraging brooding behavior. Each individual compartment accommodates medium size breeds and can host up to 5 hens. Made from galvanized steel, the box panels and roof offer durability, easily mounting to walls, barns, fences, or coops. The (PP) Polypropylene trays and lids are rust-proof, rot-proof, and feature a ventilation filter grid for cleanliness. Removable and washable trays help maintain a tidy nest. The basket trays have a slight forward slope to ensure eggs roll away from the anest into the collection chamber, protecting them from debris, feathers and damage. Liner use is unnecessary. Q: Looking through the comments: its says not reversable. Wouldnt it be possible put the neating box in backwards so the chickens enter from the back and the flaps open towards the box, so them being located on the outside this would work right ?

Purchased these for a School Farm

My students divided into two groups (it is a small class) and assembled these. Directions were easy to follow. They then installed them in our new chicken coup and they seem to be working well. Our ladies are not quite old enough to lay yet - but I am excited to see how they collect the eggs/keep them clean.

This was the most disappointing item I have purchased. It says for three only two were able to fit. It was just wrong‼️I don't recommend this product. Let the pictures and video how awful this product is.

The Homestead Essentials Roll-out 3 Compartment Nesting Box was just what I needed. My cannibalistic chickens have been eating their eggs so this was a good solution for putting a stop to that. The box is actually sturdier than I expected after reading reviews and it went together in under 30 minutes (1 person assembly). Having smaller hands to tighten tiny screws was a bonus. Took my girls about a week to figure out that they should lay in it.

Galvanized and plastic 3 hole lay box

Nice size lay boxes, a little light made. They give you just enough bolts and nuts to put it together so don't drop any, they are small. Instructions could be better but we got it together in a short time.
