I bought this saw for a non traditional use. I needed a 16" saw or larger that was 2hp or more with a blade speed of 3500fpm for occasional cutting small aluminum tabs off of aluminum castings after the castings are machined. I didn't want to spend the money on a large expensive industrial saw since it see's very little use, but I still wanted a good heavy duty saw that would hold up for some time. I think the extreme series saw fit this bill perfectly. It was a 3" larger machine than I needed and had a more powerful motor than i needed, and I liked that it had blade guide wheels instead of blocks. This saw has been cutting cast aluminum tabs that are around 1/2" thick x 1-1/2" long like butter with a proper carbide aluminum cutting blade form Starrett. I like that it has a motor brake as well, to help make it a little more safe. I like this saw so much that I want to go out and buy one for my wood shop at home too.

nothing but problems. the drive belt will not stay tensioned for more then 2 weeks. replaced the motor, 2 capacitors and there is a vibration. sometimes

Very impressed with both the packaging and the product. My prior bandsaw was a MiniMax M20 and while more than twice the cost of this one, I believe the Grizzly is a superior machine. I added a newly revised Laguna bandsaw fence and an Aigner extension table.

What a powerful bandsaw! Needed this for the heavy green wood I cut up for bowl blanks as well as for the accuracy in cutting veneers for drawer fronts and resawing thick stock into boards.
