Q: Can the blade be disengaged while self propelling to a different location in my yard? Thanks, Linda

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Thank you for reaching out with your question. Yes, you can operate the self-propel drive system independently without engaging the cutting blade. This allows you to easily transport the mower across driveways, walkways, or different areas of your yard without spinning the blade. To self-propel without starting the blade, simply engage the self-propel drive lever on the handle while leaving the motor bail handle released. For visual operational guides and helpful user tips, feel free to visit the official Greenworks YouTube channel. If you ever have additional questions or need assistance with your 60V mower, please reach out to the Greenworks Customer Success team with your product details so we can help. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools website, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

Q: Cost for another battery

2 Answers
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi Sandy! The cost of an additional battery will depend on the Ah capacity you choose and the retailer’s current pricing. This mower includes Greenworks 60V 4.0Ah batteries, so you can purchase another 4.0Ah battery for the same capacity or select a different Greenworks-branded 60V battery. The Ah rating affects how long the battery can run between charges, not its compatibility with the mower. For current pricing and availability, please check with Tractor Supply. If you would like help selecting the right capacity for your needs, call Greenworks Support at 1-888-909-6757 or connect with us through Live Chat on our website. We’ll be happy to assist!

Q: is the run time based on each battery or for both batteries together? So each batter is only 30 mins for a total run time of 60 mins or is each battery 60 mins?

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hello Jamieann15. The total runtime for the 21-inch 60V self-propelled lawn mower with (2) 4.0Ah batteries is up to 60 minutes combined. This means you get up to 30 minutes per battery, or approximately 60 minutes of continuous mowing when using both batteries back-to-back. How it Works: The mower features dual battery ports with an auto-switchover feature. When the first 4.0Ah battery is depleted, the mower automatically switches to the second 4.0Ah battery, allowing for continuous cutting. With both 4.0Ah batteries, you can expect a total runtime of up to 60 minutes, which is sufficient for up to 3/4 acres depending on grass conditions. The included dual-port charger takes approximately 40 minutes per battery to recharge. Note: Runtime is based on using both batteries and can vary based on grass thickness, height, and self-propelled speed usage. We hope this helps!

Q: Can I turn the lights off on my greenworks battery operated

2 Answers
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hello Howie. Thank you for your question. The lights automatically come ON with the mower and remains ON. They consume little to no battery life so having them on during the day will not affect performance or battery life.

Q: Will my 60V Leaf Blower battery work in the mower?

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi Jimmy. Absolutely, yes! All Greenworks batteries are interchangeable between units, if they are part of the same voltage lines (24V, 40V, 60V, and 80V), any 60V battery will work. There is an exception. Our 60V 8.0Ah battery model 2957102 cannot be used in the following tools: any 60V 12" Snow Shovel, any 60V 22" Snow Blower, any 60V Tiller/Cultivator, or any 60V machine that has a battery port door or lid. Should you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-888-909-6757 (888.909.6757) to speak with a live agent or begin a live chat. We hoped this helped!

Q: Can the mower be operated in manual push only mode by turning off the self-propulsion? Mostly so that I don't have to charge the batteries too often.

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hello localjohn - Self-propelled mowers do use more battery than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels. Users can operate the unit without the self-propelled feature. Do not pull the lever associated with the propelling feature and the unit will not propel forward. The run time will last longer without the self-propelled option being engaged.

Q: is greenworks lawn mower mo60l01 same as 2531702

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi bean, Thank you for your inquiry. These units are different lawn mowers both within the 60V battery platform. The 60v 21" SP Brushless Mower (MO60L01/2509902) is a tool only unit. The model number for this unit that comes with the battery and charger is MO60L510. The 60V 21" SP Mower GEN II (MO60L424/2531702) does include a battery and charger in the model number.

Q: Will storing protected(shed) but subject to freezing temperatures(as low as 10°F) damage the mower plastic parts or, especially, the electronics? [Note: for years(hopefully!) of winters, SO please answer with cumulative effects considered.]

2 Answers
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi fhj52, thank you for your question. For optimal longevity of the unit, we recommend the following storing temperatures for the mower, batteries, and charger: 32°F (0°C)-113°°F (45°C) and batteries should be stored indoors in a dry and cool location. Further Information on battery and unit storage is also located in the manual. We do hope that this helped!

Q: Does the weight given for the mower include the batteries installed? How much does each battery weigh?

1 Answer
  • Greenworks Tools
A: Hi BlueRidgePat, Thank you for your question. The weight of the mower is 65lbs without the batteries installed. The weight of each battery, 60V 4Ah is 4.20lbs. If you were to have both fully charged batteries installed, the weight would be just under 74lbs. We hoped that helped!

I love this mower!

3rd week update (Greenworks Pro 60v Self-Propelled): Mower is still working as it should. I've had so much fun with this mower and actually look forward to the next time I get to use it. The kit came with two 60v 4ah batteries, but I'm able to cut the yard on a single battery. I have the dual rapid charger and so far I'm able to recharge from one bar to full charge in about 25 minutes. A single battery seems to last longer than I need. I usually finish mowing in about 40 minutes. The power is more than enough to get the job done. I highly recommend this mower.

Easy to use, definitely does not mow 3/4 of an acre per full charge without the propelling assist. If you use the propelling assist, it drains the battery much quicker. Great for a small yard but not really practical for any lots over 7K sq ft total.
ProsConvenient, Easy to Use, Quiet

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Greenworks 60V 21" Self-Propelled Mower. Runtime and acreage coverage estimates are based on standard mowing conditions. Using the self-propelled drive feature draws additional power from the batteries, which will reduce total runtime compared to manual pushing. Additionally, factors like grass height, moisture, terrain, and blade speed automatically adjust to resistance, which can also affect battery longevity during a cut. For larger properties (over 7,000 sq. ft.), utilizing manual push on flat terrain or keeping an extra charged 60V battery on hand can help complete the job without interruption. We appreciate your input, as it helps other shoppers select the best setup for their lawn size. If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via chat on our website, call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.

Nice mower!

I bought this mower because I wanted a self propelled model. It’s a heavy mower and does a nice job in taller grass. The mulching feature is nice, too. I’m happy with my purchase.
