Q: Can I make this mower mulch without the bag?

- A: Hi, Kimm! Thanks for your question. Yes, this model #21565, can mulch, bag and side discharge. Your machine comes from the factory ready to recycle the grass and leaf clippings back into the lawn. If the grass bag is on the machine, remove it before recycling the clippings. To remove the bag, shut off the machine and wait for all moving parts to stop, raise the rear deflector, remove the bag rod on the grass bag from the notches at the base of the handle, install the discharge plug and lower the rear deflector. You can view more information on pages 16-17 of the manual at: https://www.toro.com/getpub/268943. The discharge chute is attached at the rear, where the bag is attached. In order to avoid waste and help the environment, a side discharge chute is not included in the carton for this model (since most customers prefer to mulch or bag their grass clippings). If you do want to use a side discharge chute for your clippings in the future, you will be offered the opportunity to have one sent to you, at no additional charge, when you register your mower with Toro at www.Toro.com/register. Q: It says this model (21565) is in the color RED but the photo shows it is black. I have not seen this particular model number in RED except for the older model which the motor part was red on a black deck. I'd prefer the all black model.

Mower from the future?

I never thought a mower could be so incredible. It is very light, it cuts right through the thick dense grass, and it looks like it's out of a star wars movie. Who knew a mower could be so exciting.

LUCKY I DIDN'T GET HURT

Bought this mower yesterday 7/27/2021. Took out of box this afternoon. Followed quick use instructions. Went to start mower and OMG it made the loudest noise from a mower I have never heard before. Immediately let go of handle and thought great engine is toast. Checked oil again, it was full. Maybe it was just first use noise of a Toro. Went to start again and holy mother of god this thing is going back. Just my luck as I had a Cub Cadet bite the dust after 1 season. Long story there. So I tilted mower back and low and behold I found the issue. The BOLT for the blade was about to fall out!!!! How did this get missed?? What else got missed? Tomorrow I will look and see what damage was done to the blade and deck and check all other bolts for tightness. I am just glad the blade didn't come flying out!!! May change 1 star to more if mower performs well after I check to make sure its safe to operate!

Great Mower

Bought this mower little over a month ago. It cuts great and the self propelled feature is great on hills. Starts on the first pull. The only drawback is that the bag is smaller than my old toro when I am bagging leaves.

Although I have only mowed twice with this mower, I am very pleased with the quality and design. The mower is light compared to other mowers, and it is very maneuverable. My lawn is a mixture of tall fescue and bluegrass, which means the cut is often uneven. This mower leaves a smooth and even cut. This mower replaced a Honda HRX gas mower, which has excellent mulching capabilities. Although I have not mowed in heavy leaf cover yet, the mulching it at least as good as with the Honda mower.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this a little over a month ago and it is a sturdy machine. I really like the aluminum deck. So far I am very happy with how it mulches. It is also pretty quiet running, I am sure over time it will get louder, but it is a nice feature.
