- A: Thank you for your inquiry. Our Hardware Cloth is not "coated" but is galvanized after welding which is the highest quality of rust preventative process available. A 2016 laboratory report on one of our products showed that the concentration of lead to be 799.2 ppm (parts per million). The EPA (TSCA Section 403) states that concentrations of less that 1200 ppm in yard soil are not considered hazardous. Works great but be careful when opening

Perfect size to keep the predators out of our chicken coop. Please be careful opening because it decompresses and unrolls very quickly. I had a couple of cuts on my hands and fingers.
