Don’t have the skill or time to build nesting boxes for my chickens. Could have cobbled something that would work but didn’t want to go Beverly Hillbilly style. Saw these and after checking the measurement, bought online and picked up at store. They seem sturdy (how well the attached ‘perch’ lasts remains to be seen as my girls aren’t laying yet) and were SO easy for to install. I attached all 5 to a 2-foot by 8-foot-ish piece of plywood then attached the whole thing to the interior 2x4’s. They are a little “bright” in color for me, but the ease of installation and the price was perfect. I put in nesting pads and now anxiously await my 1st eggs.

I do really like this box, and so does my hen. The only thing that sucks is that there isn't a back to it. It's just fully open on the back part that would screw into a coop or wall. I wish it was fully enclosed because then it would be easier to clean in my opinion. Especially if you are installing it in a fully wooden coop. I ended up using a tarp to put on the back before screwing it in so I could hose it down good when cleaning chicken poop.

the perch flops back up when the chicken tries to jump up on it - I had to put something down to help her step up. Once she went in - she came right back out and screamed at me like I gave her a faulty toy.

I'm really pleased with these nesting boxes. They are easy to hang and easy to remove for cleaning. I really appreciate the price point on them too. Very affordable and worth every penny.
