Q: Can a pintle or lunette loop be used instead of the 2 inch ball mount? Is the square tube large enough to insert a pintle hoop that's made to slip into a 2 inch receiver tube, or is the square tube (to which the ball hitch would normally mount) too small?

1 Answer
  • A: This is a 2” coupler made for a 2” ball. Opening in the coupler is exactly 2” if that works in your application. If not the 2” coupler is removable.

Form Doesn't Meet Function on this Design

For $900 (including the NEEDED wheel kit), this product doesn't perform as expected. Assembly was intuitive, and went smoothly. Seems to be built very well, and is sturdy, but....... I needed to wait for my plots to dry out after a very wet spring, so I am now just getting a chance to use this. I set up the disc's at maximum angle for maximum effectiveness, started with no additional weight. Immediately the harrow had a bad tendency to want to "walk", even at very low speed (1-2 mph). So I kept adding weight (up to ~150lbs), and changing the angle of the disc's. only running the disc's strait eliminated the walking. I even tried shifting the cement blocks and rock weights to see if there was an odd balance issue......no deal. Very annoying to say the least. And this is why I purchased this particular implement, it was wide, so as to avoid any high center of gravity issues with some of the other disc harrows out on the market.

Pleasantly surprised

I was able to assemble by myself fairly quickly, but it is a heavy piece of equipment. Tested it this past weekend on food plots that we have not turned over in 2 years and it worked great. 1st pass around I ran the disc straight just to cut top soil, then moved to 2nd pitch angle and made 1 pass, then set to 3rd pitch and it really turned up the soil. I only had 2 4x8x16 solid blocks for weight. It does take some time to do an acre plot but it works great.
