I had been feeding Purina to my flock and they ate it well. When it was unavailable (more than once) to pick up locally when I had neglected to stock up, I found myself needing to get an alternative brand and went with what was available. Though the bag size is a little awkward for me to handle at 50# vs 40#, my husband did the loading and unloading for me. Now, after having gone through one whole bag and starting on the second, I can say that my girls seem to prefer it to the Purina. It is slightly more expensive, but with the weather being cold, it is worth it to me knowing they are maintaining a healthy amount of fat to keep them warm by enjoying their pellets after coming back from the pond.
