Q: what is the root base. I want to plant in a wet area. Also how tall do they grow.

1 Answer
  • DeGroot
A: Fuji Apple trees grow best in well drained soil. They will tolerate excessive moisture for a few weeks; however, the roots can suffocate if they are in a wet area for longer than a few weeks. Fuji apple trees can grow to be approximately 15 feet tall.

Terrible trees!

I bought one of these and one of the peach trees. Both were a little more than a stick with a couple roots. Neither tree even budded. Complete waste of money.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The jury is out on this one

The price was good, however I am not sure how successful these will be. Planted to apple trees and two peach trees exactly how the directions said. So far, no blooms or growth - they look pretty dead. We shall see...

Dear Kerrybelle, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with your Fuji Apple tree. Our product is dormant, packaged bare root plants intended to be without foliage (leaves) while in the store. Dormant plants such as these offer the opportunity to jumpstart spring planting because they can be planted in the ground earlier than potted plants. Depending on the climate and weather experienced after planting, this plant could take up to 8 weeks to break dormancy and show signs of growth. At DeGroot, we strive to provide high quality plants that have high success rates for the home gardener at fair and reasonable prices. In the rare instance you do not have success with one of our fruit trees, we encourage you to contact us at (269) 468-6714 or sales@degroot-inc.com so we may assist you. Thank you, DeGroot Inc. Dead when I picked it up.

The thing looked dead when I picked it up. I scratched a little bark off to check, and I didn't see any green underneath. I took it home, and when I re-potted it I saw obvious fungus on the roots. Seems like a lot of the plants I get from Tractor Supply have serious issues. You get what you pay for, I guess.

No, I do not recommend this product.
