Designed by celebrated custom knife maker Andrew Demko, our Spartan is one of our most popular folding knives. The Spartans super-sharp blade is made from Japanese AUS10A Steel, and was designed to echo the aesthetics and cutting performance of the world-famous Kukri. Its distinctive Kopis-inspired handle is precision injection molded out of Griv-Ex with heat treated steel liners, and this, in addition to our famous Tri-Ad lock, makes for a knife that is incredibly safe and secure. The Spartan also features the patented Demko thumb plate, which can be used to open the knife like a conventional "one handed opener" or be snagged on the edge of a pocket during the draw stroke and opened at lightning speed!

  • 4.5" Clip Point Japanese AUS10A Stainless Steel Blade
  • 6" Griv-Ex Handle w/ Steel Liners
  • Ambidextrous Pocket / Belt Clip
  • Weighs 9 Oz.

Love this Knife

I absolutely love this knife. It's been there for me when I needed it most, reliable, tough, and always up to the task. The design is not only functional but beautiful. It feels great in the hand and is comfortable, and secure, even during extended use. You can tell real thought went into how this was made. I would recommend this knife for for guys with larger hands and big pockets.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Knife, But Heavy

This knife is brutal and it means business. It's serrations cut through cardboard, meat, stubborn vegetation and heavy leather. It also pokes holes in cars, though why one would want to poke holes in cars is beyond me. Cold Steel also has made this version in a deep green color, so I'm able to tell it from my standard plain edge at a glance. Maybe that's the color all Spartans are being made in, who knows? The Spartan is a bit heavy for an EDC knife, but it's great for chores around the house. The serrations in other Cold Steel knives have lasted forever in my other iterations (in AUS8A blades), so they should do even better in AUS10A. I even have an old Voyager I bought used years ago. The patterns on the serrations showed wear when I got it, and I've used it heavily and it still cuts like a champ, (You can tell it's been used a lot, but I still carry it for defense. And though an inspection of the serrations reveal hard use, one can't tell by feeling them.) The knife is super strong and durable. It's not a first choice for self defense, in my view, but could be used for such if required. Other than that, I can't think of a reason not to buy it.

Yes, I recommend this product.
