Our best selling Brinsea Ecoglow Safety 1200 Chicken Brooder has been redesigned to be even safer, more economical and easier to clean. The new chicken brooder box is ideal to raise up to 35 newly hatched chicks or ducklings (20 to 25 older chicks depending on age and size) and is suitable for any waterfowl or game-bird chicks and for classroom hatches. The new EcoGlow Safety Chick Brooders uses a metal chicken brooder plate to even out hot and cold spots which occur with plastic chicken brooder heater plates and to improve heat radiation. The new flared skirt design retains more heat further reducing energy use.
- Runs at 12 volt from a mains transformer supplied; a much safer option than mains voltage
- Chicken brooder box features a generous 10 feet power lead
- 4 adjustable legs allow you to adjust the height according to the size of the chicks; One end of the panel may be set lower than the other
- Chicken brooder is extremely economical to run - uses only 18 watts
- No disturbing light; chicks are adjusted to a natural day/night cycle which improves weight gain and feather growth

- This product is for indoor use only and the room temperature should not drop below 50°F (10°C)
- Measures 17 in. long x 12 in. wide x 9 in. high
- Some precautions need to be taken depending on the ambient temperature in the room, and on the age and number of chicks
- It is better to have the chicken brooder heater on a lower height setting, if in doubt; the chicks will move away from the EcoGlow heating chicken brooder plate if they are too warm
- If brooding very young quail or very small numbers of any small birds, it is a good idea to confine them in a cardboard box at least twice the size of the EcoGlow chick warmer, but put the warmer against one side of the box so that the birds can only enter on the other side
- One end of the heating plate may be set lower than the other; this gives very small birds to option to touch the warm under surface of the chick brooder heat plate or adjust their position for maximum comfort
- Measuring the temperature with a thermometer is of little value; Always watch the behavior of the birds, they will naturally huddle together if they are cool

I really love this brooder heater. I had previously purchased the smaller “20 chick” version and was very disappointed (I left a review with details). But this heater is a better size (though I think they’re definitely stretching the truth by claiming it houses 50 chicks), and doesn’t get so wicked hot like the little one did. I love the spiral legs. They allow for small adjustments, making getting the brooder floor temp just right for the age of the chicks very easy. Don’t waste your money on the smaller version. Spend the extra $30 for this one!!

Not sufficient for small quail/bantam chicks.

I bought the brooder 1st because of safety as I had quail chicks in the house. But this brooder doesn’t get warm enough. You have to practically drop the brooder down on the chicks in order to feel any heat coming from it. It might work better if you have big chicks, possibly older chicks & in at least 80 degrees environment for this to be sufficient to keep them warm. TSC was very helpful in refunding my money back.
