Q: This doesn’t get hot enough. I need it to get to 95 degrees. On the brooder setting it only gets to about 74 and on the heater setting it only gets to 82 and that is after i put a towel over the top to try to bottle in the heat.

Great all around Brooder!

I got 2 on the 2-20-21 assembled them, pretty easy! Love that the panels are easy to remove so it will be easy to clean. Like how easy it is to stack! Like that either trough can be used to water and the other for feed. The brooder/heater setting is great as well. The chicks ate and drank instantly!
My only drawback is the flooring holes. Its great for my quail chicks but for 2-3 week old birds the poop doesnt fall through all the way and the birds step on it and have it all over thier feet.

Heating plate not getting warm enough

I have mine set up in room at 67 degrees stable. The plate hanging on the lowest setting and on the heater option for 2 days. And it's only 79 degrees in there. Not warm enough for day old chicks.

Chicken brooder

Easy to clean. Easy to disassemble to clean when finished. Is a little heavier than I expected. Not really sure how I feel about heat source .I've always used it during mild weather, I live in Georgia. Otherwise, I like it.

The brooder structure is great and sturdy with easy to follow instructions.
My complaint is the heating element. I've had this running for a month and the hearing element is not reliable at all
The red light switches on to red when the but the brooder options does nothing.
Of I add pressure where the cord connects to the plate, the lights and heat may or may not work.
There has to be a loose connection somewhere. Either way, it is not reliable at all.
I would also prefer if it came with legs so it can be adjustable for smaller bantam sized chicks. I had to add
A different brand of heating plate.

Be prepared to adjust temp in first 2 weeks

This brooder is overall really great. I would have rated it a five star if the food and water access trays were easier to fill and easier to clean. We did have to use paracord and some keychain rings to rig up a system to lower the heat plate when the chicks were newly hatched. After the second week we were able to raise it back up. Cleaning the tray underneath has been really easy since we use an XL puppy pad in it. Extremely sturdy. I did need a second set of hands to help me get it put together, but I think I could have managed if I absolutely had to do it alone.
