I've lost 3 birds because of the design of this brooder, I just discovered 2 indio gigante chicks tangled in the rack that's supposed to keep them from climbing in the feeder tray. I don't use the feeder tray at all for the littlest ones because they get stuck in there. A couple months age I found a baby chick that somehow got sick under the bruise and died. I lifted it a little and somehow the heat plate and assembly came crashing down and crushed my baby quail. That lip apparently to shallow. At least that one spent suffer as long as the indio chick's did and not as valuable as the indio chucks. This brooder plate also sits way too high to keep any chick's warm unless it's almost time to take them off heat.

Easy to clean. Easy to disassemble to clean when finished. Is a little heavier than I expected. Not really sure how I feel about heat source .I've always used it during mild weather, I live in Georgia. Otherwise, I like it.

The brooder structure is great and sturdy with easy to follow instructions. My complaint is the heating element. I've had this running for a month and the hearing element is not reliable at all The red light switches on to red when the but the brooder options does nothing. Of I add pressure where the cord connects to the plate, the lights and heat may or may not work. There has to be a loose connection somewhere. Either way, it is not reliable at all. I would also prefer if it came with legs so it can be adjustable for smaller bantam sized chicks. I had to add A different brand of heating plate.
