The Audubon Chalet Deluxe Double-Sided Hopper Bird Feeder features Chalet styling with a cupola roof. The double-sided Chalet feeder will attract a wide array of birds to your yard. When two sides are available for dining it allows the birds to eat more peacefully. Fill this metal bird feeder with up to 4 lb. of mixed seed, sunflower seeds, peanut halves or safflower for less frequent filling. Stop birds from shoveling food out with the no-waste seed-saver baffle. Durable, chew-resistant blue powder coated steel body. Best feeder I have ever had!

I have had this feeder for about 3 years now. The birds love it! I have never seen a dove eat on it, which is a real positive to me. Blue-jays, Cardinals, Chickadee, sparrows, house finch, etc. all love it it. After three years, there is no rust on it. The color has faded a little, but it still looks great. I keep it out year round, would buy another one in a second if I ever needed another feeder.

Good: Well made, attractive, easy to fill, seed trays fairly well protected from rain. Bad: A combination of the steeply angled sides, narrow seed trays, and roof overhangs make it difficult for the larger birds to feed (cardinals, grosbeaks, redwings, etc.). Great for little birds, disappointing for big birds. So now we've got two feeders. Not what I'd hoped for.

Very pretty but poor engineering

I awarded one star because it is so pretty, but I cannot give any more stars because the engineering is so poor.
It arrived with four holes in the bottom of the feeder to be used for pole mounting. I will not be using a pole. There is supposed to be tape included to cover those four holes if you are hanging it, but the tape was not included. I had to call customer service to get the tape sent to me.
The top was very difficult to get open, but I turned the feeder upside down and pried the little latch to open the top of the feeder. I filled it with just a little seed because it is heavy to begin with. The birds do like it, but when I decided to add more seed I found I could not get the top open. It looks like I’m either going to have to wait until the birds eat all of the seed so I can turn the feeder over and try to pry the top open again or just throw the feeder away if I can’t get it open.
At this point, I consider it a total waste of money. I had expected much better from something carrying the Audubon name.

Latch will not stay closed

The latch does not stay closed. It latches but falls open when I fill the birdfeeder. It does not line up properly .I am returning it for a replacement It is otherwise a great birdfeeder This is my second one
