Our Polish and Crested assortment is a fun mixture of our Appenzellar Spitzhauben and any of our Polish breeds. Based on availability on your hatch date, this assortment may include the following: Buff Laced Polish, Silver Laced Polish, Gold Laced Polish, White Crested Black Polish, White Crested Blue Polish, and Appenzeller Spitzhaubens. Known for their bouffant crests of feathers on their heads, these docile, even tempered breeds can be nervous and easily surprised from the feathers limiting their vision. These sweet, beautiful, ornamental birds are great for exhibition and will add interest to any backyard flock.Guarantee of 90% accuracy on all sexed poultry.

If you want them to lay fertilized eggs and hatch more chicks, you should buy the unsexed chicks so you get a mix of males and females. If you just want unfertilized eggs, you should purchase all females. There isn't an exact ratio of males to females in the unsexed chicks, you would just receive a random assortment. If you're hoping to purchase just 1 male, I would suggest purchasing the females and then reaching out to Hoover's Hatchery. Beautiful chicks. Sadly we lost 4 of the 10 in the first 24 hours. Otherwise, the other 6 are growing fast and look amazing.

Polish Crested Pullets

I was excited when the hatchery offered pullets. One didn't make it during shipping. Five more died within twelve hours of arrival. Out of the ten that shipped only four have survived. I was only refunded for one chick. I have ordered chicks before and usually get a bonus chick as a courtesy in case of loss. This batch there wasn't a bonus chick. It was the end of summer when I ordered so shipping was hard on them because they came from Texas. Overall, I have a lot of money invested for very little to show for it. I can say I was sent a variation of polish chicks, it's just too bad they didn't handle the travel better.
