Very easy to put together, two of us fully assembled it in under three hours. I would suggest having at least two people to assemble it. The coop comes stained and treated but I did add a coat of a water treatment to the outside of the coop to help add extra protection from the weather. I really like that I can add an extension pen to it to give my girls more space for foraging. It has two removable panels to add a connection tunnel to easily add a large foraging pen. The three perches in the hutch area are large enough to hold my 12 hens.

My 70 year old father and I put it together in the better part of a day. We did build a level base out of 4x4 pressure treated lumber as other reviewers had mentioned, which made assembly much smoother. Overall, putting it together was pretty straightforward and not complicated. You will need a ladder and some flexibility to get the roof on. So far it has held up great in our east Texas heat, humidity, and driving Fall rains. Looking forward to the spring when our hens are old enough to utilize the nesting boxes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you want the best chicken coop ever, this is it!! Not only do I love it but the chickies love it too. I added some cute wall paper and a chandelier inside for extra glam and I get so many compliments! It has also survived a strong wing storm and we are coming up our first winter with it so I’m excited to see how it does for that too! I have 6 chickens who are more than comfortable in this coop and they love the layout and are excelling at giving me so many eggs. It seriously is my favorite coop ever.
