Renowned for their exceptional size and efficient meat production, this breed is the commercial standard for high-quality turkey meat and a popular choice for homesteads and small farms raising turkeys for the table. Broad Breasted Whites grow rapidly and develop a large, meaty breast, making them ideal for holiday meals and home meat production. Mature hens typically reach weights of around 25 pounds, while toms can grow up to 45 pounds in approximately 20 weeks. Due to their large body size, shorter legs, and shortened breast structure, Broad Breasted White turkeys cannot reproduce naturally and are bred through artificial means. These turkeys are strong, hardy, and docile, making them easy to manage with proper care. They cannot fly and are bred specifically for meat production rather than longevity. turkeys won't stop dying

I ordered my turkeys back in Novemeber. They weren't delivered until mid December. No phone call, nothing, they were dropped at the front door instead of us being called to pick them up at the post office. Well it was really cold outside and they all died. It was a sad sight. But I called tractor supply and they offered to replace the full order, great.
However, yesterday we received a call to pick them up at the post office and one was already dead. At home they went right into a box with a warming light, food and water. We keep checking on them and they just keep dying. 3 died during the night and 3 more throughout the day. After one day we have 3 left. I ordered chicks from somewhere else, out of 50 we still have 49 almost full grown, received 16 ducklings and all 16 are still doing great. These turkeys don't seem too healthy to me. We check on them about once an hour and we just keep losing them.
It's sad that they keep dying but it's also a waste of money and time.
I see a lot of bad reviews, maybe it's time for a new hatchery.

All of the chicks I ordered died within 36 hours. Most of them died withing 12 hours, but a few hung on for another day. In the end, 0/10 survived.
Absolute worst experience ever. Won't make this mistake twice, that is for sure.

Wouldn't order live poultry again from hoovers

I had 4 die within 48 hours. I wanted a replacement but they refunded me money instead. Within the next 48 hours after that and taking care of the other 6, 5 more passed away. They were fed medicated chick feed and was watered regularly. I have spent a lot of $ ordering chicks and turkeys and yet have nothing much more to show for it. More then likely will quit ordering from here and try other hatcheries I have heard outstanding reviews from. BTW the one turkey is alive and thriving. And when you order unsexed I wod assume you would get a mixture. Because the chances of ordering 10 unsexed and all being female is highly unlikely. There should of atleast been one male in the bunch.

Refunded, no survivors

My birds arrived to my porch, dead and stiff. Contacted tractor supply and they offered to request replacements, but we didn’t want our kids witnessing another box full of dead birds. Ended up being refunded. Will not use Hoover again, will stick with someone closer, as it looked like they arrived to post office in the evening and then delivered the next day around noon.

Received the turkeys, but within a week had approximately a 60% loss rate. That goes beyond the 48 hours that TSC will support. TSC support had little empathy and just directed me to the hatchery to get anything done. Rather than fight that battle, I am just taking the loss. No more buying turkeys from TSC/Hoover for me.
