Our Norwesco Water Storage Tanks are manufactured using resins that meet FDA specifications to ensure safe storage of potable water. The dark color limits light penetration, which reduces the growth of water-borne algae. These large water storage tanks are rated at 9.2 lb. per gal., which means that they are for water storage only and should not be used for chemicals, fertilizers or any other product. They are designed to last thanks to their corrosion-resistant polyethylene construction.

a month ago- A: Yesa month agoHelpful?
Q: Do they have internal ladders to enter an empty tank for inspection and cleaning?
4 months ago- A: The Norwesco 1,550 Gallon Water Storage Tank (Part #40627) does not include internal ladders, as its 67-inch height and seamless rotationally molded design are intended for external maintenance. Access is provided through a 16-inch threaded manway on top, which is typically used for inserting cleaning tools rather than personnel entry. To clean the interior, manufacturers recommend using a pressure washer through the top opening and draining sediment via the 2-inch bottom bulkhead fitting. If physical entry is required, you must use your own portable ladder system and follow strict confined space safety protocols.4 months agoHelpful?

Q: Also could a stock tank heater be used in the winter to keep the water from being frozen? Is there anything one could install to measure the amount of water in the tank? Being disabled would be hard to climb a ladder to look inside the tank.
8 months ago- A: Using a stock tank heater in a plastic Norwesco 1,550-gallon tank is generally acceptable, provided you choose a heater specifically designed as a "sinking de-icer" and safe for use in poly tanks. Standard float heaters are typically used in smaller, traditional stock tanks and may not be as effective in a much larger, deep tank. Several products can also be installed to measure the water level in your Norwesco tank.8 months agoHelpful?
