The Norwesco 2,500 gal. Water Only Tank is manufactured using resins that meet FDA specifications to ensure safe storage of potable water. The black or dark green color of these water holding units limit light penetration which reduces the growth of water-borne algae. Norwesco's water tank is rated at 9.2 lb. per gallon, which means that it's just for water! They should not be used for chemicals, fertilizers or any other product. Where applicable, the tanks will carry the NSF approval. Please contact your distributor for more specific information regarding NSF approval.

Q: Is the water drinkable and safe? Can you use this as a spring and safely drink the water without boiling. Will the water have chemicals in it from tank resin?
3 months ago- A: Yes, the water stored in the Norwesco 2,500 gal. Water Only Tank is safe for human consumption as the tank is specifically manufactured for potable water storage. The tank is made from high-quality, food-grade materials that prevent chemical leaching, though you must still ensure the water itself is safe before it enters the tank.3 months agoHelpful?
Q: How long will water stay good in this tank?
a year ago- A: If a tank is beginning to show its age, you will be able to see fine fissures or hairline cracks referred to as crazing. Look for crazing on the dome of a vertical tank in the area where sunlight is most intense. The top of a transport tank, which has been allowed to set outside all year, is a good place to look as well. These fine cracks will become more intense and visible as time goes on and will become stress cracks. Giving the tank a good hit with a baseball bat is as good a test as any. The resilience of a good tank will be obvious. A tank beyond its life expectancy will sound dull when struck and could crack as a result. It is better to check early and be safe versus losing valuable chemicals and incurring cleanup expense. When a tank is determined to be unsafe or you know it is getting old, it is best to make it a non-drinking water only tank.a year agoHelpful?
Q: What is the Outlet size?
a year ago- A: 2'' NPT fitting.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Can it be placed underground ?
a year ago- A: Nick, These tanks are not for underground and should NOT be buried. We do offer TSC an underground cistern that can be purchased directly from any TSC store.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Can I get this tank in NC, SC, VA, or WV
a year ago- A: Chris- You can actually order that tank from any TSC store. Many of the stores in VA and WV carry this tank as well.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Do you have a 5000 gallon water tank?
2 years ago- A: Yes we do, 40641 is a black tank, and 40164 is a natural colored tank.2 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can you roll this on its side?
3 years ago- A: Hi, Yes you should be able to roll it on its side.3 years agoHelpful?
Q: I want to install a 1000 gal or more water tank under a shade structure just for emergency purposes. Does the material the tank is made out of effect the longevity of the tank. So another words is the white tank or the black tank better for my purposes
6 years ago- A: The advantage of buying a darker color would be algae control.6 years agoHelpful?
Q: Hi. I'm looking for an off grid water storage solution for tiny house. Should i purchase a below ground cistern instead. I live in central NH, suspect water would freeze in this above ground tank?
6 years ago- A: Hi Mattbratt. Sorry for my delayed response, your inquiry was unintentionally overlooked. You are correct, If you want access to unfrozen water during the winter months, you would be better off with a cistern tank, as water within an above ground tank will freeze during cold months. You can keep water in an above ground tank during the winter, you just need to leave room for expansion as it turns to ice. Your local TSC store can "special order" below ground tanks from Norwesco. Feel free to call me with any questions. Thanks, Bob 952-446-88076 years agoHelpful?
Q: Our property has a well and the well feeds two small houses. Will a storage tank provide more water pressure? Will we need to purchase any other items (like a pump?) to get the water from the water storage tank to the houses? Can I call anyone for ?'s
7 years ago- A: More details are required to sufficiently answer your question. Please call Bob at (952) 446-8807 and he should be able to assist you.7 years agoHelpful?
