Q&As

1 - 10 of 22 Questions

Q: Is this the same as the utility gel

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Wound Hydrogel for All Animals is essentially the same product as Vetericyn Plus Utility Gel. Both formulas are water-based hydrogels designed to go on as a fine mist and stick directly to the skin. This creates an optimal moisture barrier that protects the wound bed from dirt and bacteria without stinging.

Q: How long dose it take for this to start healing

1 Answer
  • A: Wound healing consists of several variables that can impact wound closure including environmental conditions, age of animal, location of wound, infection, and if the wound can be accessed by the pet. Feel free to reach out to our customer service team (customerservice@innovacyn.com) with photos and we are happy to provide an wound assessment.

Q: Will this help with dogs glands that are impacted /ruptured. The itching ,soreness & healing ?

  • A: Hi Susie1965. Our hydrogel will help with itch & pain relief while protecting and providing moisture to the area. This can aid the healing process. For optimal results, we recommend cleaning the area with our Wound Care liquid before applying the hydrogel.

Q: Will this work for a neutered 5 month pup? The stitches came out & it looks red, irritated.

2 Answers
  • A: Our Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Hydrogel works great for suture sites, especially those that are showing signs of irritation. Depending on how red and irritated it is, you might need to consult with your veterinarian, as an underlying infection is something that should be looked at and treated both topically and with an oral antibiotic. Good luck!

Q: Would this work to help get rid of itchy yeast infection inside dogs ears???

  • A: Hi Geneo27. Our Hydrogel is used to protect, relieve, and aid healing of wounds and skin irritations. For your dog's ears, we recommend our Ear Rinse. It will help flush and clean the ear to remove irritants and relieve itch and irritation. We hope your dog feels better soon!

Q: Can this be used on chicken wounds?

1 Answer
  • A: Our hydrogel is safe and effective to use on chicken wounds. Vetericyn offers "Antimicrobial Poultry Care" in the poultry section of Tractor Supply, but this is only offered as a liquid, not a hydrogel. The reason we do not have a Poultry-labeled hydrogel is due to the dirtier environments chickens are commonly in and hydrogel typically attracts dirt and debris. We suggest a combination approach if using hydrogel and clean the wound first with the liquid and following up with hydrogel.

Q: Can this be used in eyes of cats?

1 Answer
  • A: Although the formulation is safe for use around the eyes, we suggest our Vetericyn Plus Eye Wash. The applicator is the optimal choice for cats vs. using a trigger sprayer. Thanks for your question.

Q: Should this be used on a dog laceration bite between the eyes?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Jsdlg. Yes. Our hydrogel is a great way to clean and protect wounds to aid in healing and help prevent infection. Application between the eyes may be tricky so you can try spraying the gel onto your finger or a cotton swap and then applying to the wound. If you have any questions or comments please get in touch with customerservice@innovacyn.com. We hope your dog gets better soon!

Hydrogel

My kitty is a very light-colored orange and white tabby. Like most white cats, he sunburns. I’m super-careful about keeping him out of sunny windows, but of course, he loves to sneak a nap on the south-facing. window with his nose to the screen, even if he has to crawl under the window blinds to do so. He ends up looking like his nose, head, and forehead have the measles. Hydrogel helps the itchy red dots of his sun-sensitivity heal faster. Some of it gets licked off, but it isn’t a toxic product. He heals without it, but he heals faster with it. It doesn’t sting, but it does have an (okay) smell. He doesn’t like the sound of the spray, so I spray my palm and put a drop on my finger then on him. I’m glad to have found a non-toxic product that helps.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is, by far, the most effective product I have ever used. It is like a magical, miracle formula that heals wounds, both major and minor, quickly and cleanly. I always make sure I have it on hand - there is nothing else that even comes close.

Yes, I recommend this product.
