- A: Using the recommend dose of 1 to 4 ounces a day will last you estimated 1 to 1 1/2 months feeding once daily. I use this on my ottb's and it does help for weight gain with a good diet. I notice their coats and hooves are much healthier. Most of all my horses seem to like the taste and it smells good for my picky eater. I have tried other products but for the price it works well without costing a ton of money and I can to make it part of my feeding program.5 years agoHelpful?

This is such a GREAT product but hardly any feed stores carry it! I am so grateful that you do. I have tried soooo many other similar products, but none have the weight building power due to its almost 100% fat content. It is a vital part of keeping weight on my geriatric ward.

Great for Older Horses

This product is fantastic for older horses that need some help gaining weight. I used this product for many years with an older Morgan gelding that I had. He was an easy keeper in his younger years, but as he aged, he would have a difficult time holding weight through the winter. This oil helped every time. I liked that I didn't have to add too many more things to his diet, as he was small and of a hardier breed. It provided just enough 'cool' calories to maintain his weight - even in work! An additional plus is that his winter coat always looked fantastic with the additional Omega 3s!
