Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Battery Charger I bought this model in March 2019 and used it 5 times to charge lawn mower and light truck batteries. Today June 17, 2020 it stopped working. I’ve taken extra care to store in its original packaging after each use so after 5 uses it is still like new. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty. Today I drove 22 miles one way to Tractor Supply to exchange it. Returned home with replacement and it’s not working. Power light comes on and charge meter indicates 100, but no output. I tried each different setting and nothing. These are exact same symptoms on the original charger earlier today after it quit working. I’ll be driving another 44 miles!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good at all On my second unit. Returned the first one because it would not charge my battery. Got a replacement and now this one is doing the same thing. Very poor quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I am glad someone still makes a smaller charger with manual controls. Everything you find now is an automatic charger. I have two of these we use on the farm, and I'am considering buying another one. One is almost three years old and the other is a year old and they still work. Great chargers, hope they don't stop making them.

This Traveller Charger says it’s Automatic. Does that mean it is a Smart Charger ,ie it determines charge battery needs and provides those levels of charge using a microprocessor? Thanks

Asked by: Esprit
It is not a microprocessor controlled charger, the charging mode (12V/2A, 12V/10A, 12V/50A) needs to be selected manually. But it is automatically control/reduce charging current based on battery condition, to protect battery from overcharging.

my marine battery is about 95% discharged it will run accessories but will not turn the engine over when I put it on the charger the charger indicates full charge?? I switched the battery out with My RV battery and the boat cranks fine.

Asked by: Rickiebob
The battery indicator will turn to green if you use 50A rapid charge in a few minutes for the battery which is 95% discharged. Please use 2A trickle charge and see if the indicator will turn to green shortly. If so, you may need to change another new battery.

My Traveller charger is brand new out of the box. The needle shows at 100% unplugged. When I hook it up to the battery to be charged, it stays at 100%. What is going on? Is it a bad charger?

Does it have a fan to cool it I have the 50 amp

Asked by: Redfox333
No, this item doesn’t have a fan. The unit is designed with its own cooling system and protection system, when the transformer is over 115C degree, the unit will be shut down automatically and remain working after cooling down.
