Lean forward on the handle to go faster, and let up to slow down. Whereas, on our traditional self-propelled mowers, you pull the self-propel-drive bar to the handle and hold it to engage the self-propel drive, and the maximum self-propel-drive speed is fixed. It cuts my grass when you can get it started and that’s the only nice thing I can say about it. It’s underpowered, and if you have to stop to pick something up it takes at least 15-20 pulls before it’ll start. The discharge chute gets clogged quickly so you’re constantly having to clear it. Finally I can’t mow both my yards in one go because it starts surging and dies, you have to let it sit for half an hour or so before it’ll start again.
No, I do not recommend this product.
