Where have you been all my life, beautiful?

Simply one of the greatest inventions ever. I bought one of these and immediately put an ad on CL offering to pull tree support T-posts out of the ground for $10 per visit (I keep the stakes). We have a lot of new homes surrounding us, and contractors planted new trees everywhere. Now many of those t-posts need to come out. I needed T-posts for my 15 acres, so now people pay me remove theirs and I keep the stakes! Is this a great country or what?

Good, But Not That Great

I was really hoping it would work as well as most of the reviews, but in reality, I knew better. I was moving a section of fence and had to remove several T-posts. I first simply tried to use the puller with a 2x4 under the base for added load spreading to keep the puller from sinking into the ground. This puller did absolutely nothing for the T-post. The harder I pushed down, the more it pushed the T-post away from the base with a threat of bending the T-post at the ground. At 250-lbs and some of these reviews, the T-post should have just pulled straight out. The reality was that I eventually had to dig around the post until I got down to the blade section of the 1.25# and 1.33# posts, wiggle it a bit to get it loose, and THEN the puller could do it's job. It had rained for days prior to this, so the ground was soft, but these were 6.5-foot posts that were driven 18" into the ground. Some of them had been installed for 15 years or more. When removing T-posts manually, the last 8" is the worst, and this puller worked wonderfully for that, but for anything driven into the ground deeper for larger livestock, expect to use a shovel a little before even putting this puller into action. Overall, it's a decent tool and did help with some aggravation, but don't expect it to perform miracles. I'd guess it cut the time in half for each T-post compared to doing it manually with a shovel and brute force, so, in the long run, I am glad I bought it.

Worth every penny

This is one of those tools that once you use it, you'll think back of all of the time and energy wasted over the years when you didn't have it. I opted for this taller one and I'm glad that I did as there is no bending. The hook is great for wood posts but also versatile as a makeshift crane for just about anything for a one-man farm operation. 100% recommend.

Post Remover

Works well on T-posts, especially if ground is not rock hard dry, but even then, it works. Does require some upper body strength, but I'm an active 74 year old female and could manage it. Have a 2x4 piece handy to put under base if soil is wet or really leafy and soft.
