Q: I don't have a need for corners. I am going to run a straight long fence using T-posts and chain link. Can I still use these to support each 6 ft. section better? Is that what "in-Line" means? Or is this product for using on corner areas of fences only?

  • A: Hi David! Belgian 24 Works with all types of fencing materials for permanent and temporary fences. In-line bracing" refers to reinforcing a straight section of fence, not just the corners or ends.

Q: How much pressure can these handle? Thanks

1 Answer
  • A: Per the manufacturer, Wedge-Loc: "We had the University of Arizona test it when we first started the company in 1989. They took a tractor with their equipment hooked to four strands of smooth twisted wire on a diagonal brace and a wire snapped at 2900 lbs. and the testing was stopped. The hardware was still working. The average combined pull on a 4 strand 12.5 gauge wire fence is 500-700 pounds. All the tips we have come up with over the years to ensure success when working with t-posts are listed on the bags and instruction page at our website www.wedgeloc.com. The most important is to use a 7’ or 8’ post for all of your corner posts and end posts. This is so you have the posts in the ground 2-3’. Then stretch the wire from the bottom one up and alternate the direction of the wraps on the post when tying off. This will keep the post from twisting from the pressure."

Some of the welds make them a little difficult to use but not impossible. Other than that system worked well for our chicken enclosure.

I ordered the horizontal wedge locks, but got the angular ones, so I had to move posts in very rocky soil.
