- Stump and root killer is ready to use and requires no mixing
- Apply Stump Stop herbicide to cut stumps to control resprouting
- Used to control nearly 100 varieties of woody plant species, including alder, birch, dogwood, elm, hawthorn, locust, Russian olive, pine, sumac, willow and many more
- Also kills poison ivy and poison oak
- Applications: Forests, rangeland, permanent pastures, industrial manufacturing and storage sites, rights-of-way (such as electrical power lines, communication lines, pipelines, road sides and railroads), fence rows, non-irrigation ditch banks and around farm buildings
- For cut stumps: Treatments may be applied throughout the year, except when snow or water prevents spraying to the ground line. Control may be reduced with treatment during periods of moisture stress as in late summer.
- For basal bark treatment: Apply at any time, including the winter months, except when snow or water prevents spraying to the ground line.
- To control resprouting: apply undiluted Stump Stop to wet the area adjacent to the cambium and bark around the entire circumference and the sides of cut stumps. Sides of stumps should be thoroughly wetted down to the root collar area, but not to the point of runoff.
- To control susceptible woody plants with stems less than a 6 in. basal diameter: Apply Stump Stop with a backpack or knapsack sprayer using low pressure and a solid cone or flat fan nozzle. Spray the basal parts of brush and tree trunks in a manner that thoroughly wets the lower 12 to 15 in. of stems, including the root collar area, but not to the point of runoff. Herbicide concentration should vary with size and susceptibility of species treated.
- See the complete label for specific use rates and detailed instructions
- Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for important safety information

Q: Can you use it on a stump beside your well
7 days ago- A: Howdy neighbor! You should not use Stump Stop near your water well because its active ingredient, triclopyr, is highly water-soluble and can easily leach through the soil into your groundwater supply. For your safety, it is best to avoid chemical treatments around a wellhead and instead use non-toxic methods like mechanical stump grinding or filling drilled holes with pure Epsom salt to dry out the roots. This keeps your drinking water perfectly safe while effectively clearing out that stubborn stump.5 days agoHelpful?
