Q: Will it kill growing vines including roots?

1 Answer
  • AI-generated
A: No, this surfactant cannot kill vines or roots on its own because it does not contain active weed-killing ingredients. It is designed to be mixed with herbicides to help them stick to and penetrate plant surfaces more effectively.

Q: Does this serve as a replacement for basal oil during basal bark treatment?

Q: Is Farmworks 80/20 an organosilicone surfactant?

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! This product is a standard, general-purpose non-ionic surfactant rather than a specialized organosilicone "super-spreader." Its alcohol ethoxylate formula works by breaking water tension so your weed killer spreads flat and sticks to waxy leaves instead of rolling off.

Q: Can this be used in a pump up sprayer and if so what is the amount to use for 1 gal sprayer

1 Answer
  • AI-assisted
A: Yes, this surfactant can be used in a sprayer. The recommended application rate is 0.5 to 4 pints per 100 gallons of spray solution depending on the specific crop or chemical being paired.

Q: Can I use this as a soil wetting agent for my lawn?

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! While you can technically use FarmWorks 80/20 Surfactant to temporarily break surface tension on hard ground, it is not recommended as a long-term soil wetting agent. This product is formulated as a foliar spray adjuvant designed to stick chemicals to leaves, meaning it breaks down quickly in the dirt and will wash away after your very first watering.

Q: Does it kill duck weed

1 Answer
  • AI-generated
A: No, this product will not kill duckweed on its own because it does not contain an insecticide or herbicide. It is a surfactant designed to be mixed with pesticides to improve their wetting and spreading on plant surfaces, helping the actual weed killer stick and work more effectively.

Q: I am spraying clethodim on my deer plots that now have wheat, oats and rye alomost dying out. I also have clover but I am wamt the clover to prevail will this work to kill all except clover?

1 Answer
  • AI-generated
A: It depends on the specific herbicide label. While this surfactant can be mixed with Clethodim, using a non-ionic surfactant may reduce its grass-killing effectiveness compared to crop oil. Additionally, chemical interactions vary by weed species and weather, so you must follow the manufacturer labels for all products to avoid damaging your clover or application failure.

Q: will this kill wisteria roots?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi neighbor! FarmWorks 80/20 Surfactant cannot kill wisteria roots on its own because it contains no active weed-killing ingredients. Instead, it acts as a helper that breaks down water tension so actual herbicides can stick to the plant.

Q: Will this kill insects on its own like some dish soaps

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! FarmWorks 80/20 Surfactant will not kill insects on its own because it contains no active pest control chemicals and is completely non-ionic, meaning it lacks the harsh ingredients that let dish soaps break down a bug's protective shell. Instead, it works strictly as a helper additive designed to lower water surface tension so that your actual mixed insecticides or weed killers spread out smoothly and stick to surfaces instead of bead up and roll off. To eliminate pests, mix this product with a dedicated insect control concentrate inside your sprayer tank.

Nice Product

Used the 80/20 Surfactant to mix with Glyphosate Herbicide, The Glyphosate had surfactant already so said by manufacturer, but I wanted to use on Kudzu, which seems to last very long after applying herbicide too or does not die off very fast, plus we have high humidity and rain often daily, I started out with one teaspoon per gallon, which worked ok, I then started to add more and more, about 1 1/2--2 teaspoon per gallon which made the difference, I could see the herbicide stick to the leafs and staying there, no run off. For those using Glyphosate herbicide on kudzu I have some more information for you, I have been spraying back kudzu creeping onto my property, get you some nitrogen (21-0-0 spray grade Purchased online) to add to your mix, at a rate of 5 1/2 cups per 14 gallons. I have gone to this amount from 4 3/4 cups which is the guideline amount to mix in with on online printout for doing so, I started adding 3/4 cup extra, works much better just by adding an extra in. The 0.5% nitrogen for 14 gallons is 2.78 pounds nitrogen if using 21-0-0. Mix the 21-0-0 with your water first. Then the Glyphosate. Then your surfactant. I used 3oz per gallon Glyphosate (generic brand) which called for 2 1/2oz per gallon.

FarmWorks Surfactant

It definately worked well as a surfactant my only concern is how the chemicals in the surfactant are absorbed into the plant and how the plant processes them once Inside. I would not feel comfortable using it on edible plants. More information on the chemicals it contains would be good.

Much more effective than dish soap

I had always used dish soap as a surfactant when spraying glyphosate and 2-4-D. Recently, I noticed this product online at TSC and researched my current method. I found multiple articles that advise while dish soap can be used, it is very ineffective so am giving this product a try. Price is reasonable and it only takes a small amount to my 30-gallon sprayer. So far, it has worked great.

The Best Surfactant Value on the Market

The 1-gallon FarmWorks 80/20 surfactant is the best value on the market.  I’ve seen 32-ounce bottles of surfactant for the same or more expensive price.  It functions as a surfactant should, mixing well with herbicides and pesticides.  I highly recommend this product!
