SIMPSON 3,600 PSI 2.5 GPM Gas Cold Water PowerShot Professional Pressure Washer with Triplex Pump, Honda GX200 Engine

I have purchased several residential power washers, only to be disappointed in 3-5 years with failing pumps or engine issues. I do regular maintenance on them and proper storage. So this time I decided to spend a bit more and settled in this unit. I mist say that it performs much better than anything I ever had before. The Honda motor is very good and easy to start. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 is because the hose supplied with the unit is cheap. 3700psi rated hose for a 3600psi unit is unacceptable, especially at this price point. I already inew this was the case so I purchased the Simpson 4000psi steel braided 50ft hose at the same time. I also switched everything over to quick couplers. This is a commercial quality PW. They may as well reduce the price some and just let us purchase the hose and couplers separate as opposed to supplying subpar hose and fittings. Otherwise, it’s a great unit and I would highly recommend it.

I bought this because it had two features with quality reputation. Honda GX engine, and a triaxial pump. But the base those are mounted on is just a little thicker than aluminum foil. Thus the reason this unit vibrates like I've never seen before. A few have mentioned chalks, no, I think you'd have to chain it down to keep it in place. I'm convinced the motor will shake itself apart within a year. Measuring with a caliper, it is .07 thick, which includes the powdercoat. I tossed the base, made a new one and included some height to make it more user friendly, and can now hold a hose. Shaking problem solved. Engine- super quality, but with some super cheese add ons. I took the air filter housing off, and was amazed to see the huge gap around the base where it sits on the carburetor. Factory attempted a fix by putting a rubber washer to fill gap, but it didn't come close to doing that. As is, the air filter is doing nothing, it will suck all its air thru the gap. So I had to fix that also. Amazed it passed quality control like that, and also that nobody else noticed that in their reviews. I called Honda, they said Simpson alters some things for their applications. I checked before I called, it is the housing that it left the factory with. I guess by putting a Simpson sticker on it, it alerted the fit, yea. I corrected him, and was told they would look into it. I then asked Honda if they were aware that Simpson was mounting their engine on a base so thin, it causes the engine to shake so violently. He said no, would look into that also. Neither issue seemed to concerning, until I reminded him who's responsible for warranting the engine. So as par with everything made overseas, I have to alter poor engineering out of the box. Can't fix the hose though, just have to throw it away, it's junk. Now to see if Simpson responds to my review like they have others. Tom
