Would have been nice if it had been shipped to the correct address in texas instead of NC!

I bought this to cut aluminum plate at lower speed than the avg 720 rpm units of this same size. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a large and unneeded unit that can go slow so this one goes down to around 500 rpm and cut well. Two things about it (three really). One, the chuck fell off during the first drilling. I installed it according to instruction manual and used the rubber hammer to gently beat it up to “lock it in.” I don’t think it locked in even after the second time it fell off. So i used a five pound hammer to beat in with three good wacks (with prongs fully recessed) and it hasn’t fallen off yet but I don’t think it actually “locked in” like it is suppose to. Second, the cheap sheet metal cover for the belts is very noisy and rattly when power is on. I ended up bending the metal at the closure tab to make the cover close tighter. Still noisy but not as much. Guess I’ll need to find cheap rubber tubing the line the edge of the lower cover to keep it quiet. Third (and I knew it when I bought it), it doesn’t have a light so you will need your own and it doesn’t use an actual hand crank on the drilling table (slides up and down and not very easily) so that is a pain in the rear. But I didn’t buy this for the light and I didn’t want to pay an additional 69 bucks for a crank to do a small project but I really bought this for the 500 rpm drill speed so as to not burn up bits and metal (oil was used to drill with). It is also quite top heavy and a little tippy so if you can, bolt it to a table to keep it from falling over during use. the 8” table is small and feels small when using it and it didn’t come with a table vise so I used a regular U clamp and rubber to protect surfaces.
