Scotts 10 lb. 225 sq. ft. EZ Seed Patch and Repair Bermudagrass Grass Seed

OK, here’s the deal. I wasn’t able to actually so this seed as it has been too cold. In fact, you can see in one of the pictures. I haven’t been able to take the pool cover off because the weather has been very cool. Bermuda requires warmer soil temperatures. But of course it is beginning to warm up in Oklahoma mid May so I will be able to plant this in the bare spots in the attached picture. The seed it’s impregnated in a dark colored biodegradable material, which should help it retain moisture and allow the seed to sprout without wilting. I’m looking forward to having a nice stand of lush and green Bermuda grass and filling in these bare spots. One more benefit. Because the seed is impregnated in this growing medium, the birds should not eat it and carry it away. That is a huge advantage over using raw seed.

Somehow I kept getting dead spots in my lawn for no reason. And Scott EZ seed patch has helped me fill those spots fast. It is easy to spread and incorporate it into my existing lawn. Veru easy to use with clearly instruction on the package. It does a great job in repairing those bare spots on my lawn. My grass is now growing back thick and fast. We had several sections in the front yard that did not spring back after the winter which left yellow spots. I raked the dead areas to remove the undergrowth,applied the turf repair, and watered the yard. I took photos of the grass before the treatment and several weeks after applying it. There is some noticeable greening of the dead sections, though it didn’t get the entire area. Overall I would say that the product is fairly easy to use. I was able to use it one handed and sprinkle it across the yard. The lid ensured that the fertilizer and grass seed was distributed evenly using teeth to direct it outwards. I believe with multiple applications of the product I should be able to fill in the dead areas.

I’ve got a few hotspots in my yard where it doesn’t seem to matter what I try, I can grow anything at all. I tried the patch and repair and got a little which is promising but as you can tell, it’s literally just a little. I will continue to monitor it and will try to reapply and see if I can build on this.
