A: Yes, Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint can be applied with a good quality roller, natural or synthetic bristle brush, Air-Atomized sprayer, or Airless Sprayer. When rolling, use a good quality natural or polyester cover. Use a short nap (¼”) roller for smooth surfaces, and a medium nap (⅜”) roller for rough surfaces. — Rust-Oleum Product Support 15

Q: on new aluminum is it best to use a primer coat . for this paint

  • Rust-OleumSupport
A: Great question, Mike. While it is not required to prime aluminum surfaces before applying Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint, a primer will always help to improve adhesion. A strong base coat that provides excellent adhesion would be Rust-Oleum Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-Based Primer. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/rust-oleum-zinsser-bulls-eye-123-white-1-gal-2001-1485290 -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

A: Hi, Russ. We're happy to help! For spray application of Rust-Oleum Specialty Farm and Implement Paint, we recommend thinning only the paint that you are going to use for this project and gradually thinning only as much as necessary using mineral spirits. The maximum amount of mineral spirits to use is 15% by volume for air-atomized spray and 5% by volume for airless spray. — Rust-Oleum Product Support 15

Great paint!

For the price it is a fantastic paint. I absolutely love the color I painted my 95 nissan truck with it then gave it a clearcoat. Turned out pretty good for a novice. I recommend using a hardner just not too much.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great paint

I used this paint on an older tractor I have been restoring. This paint stuck great and covered nicely. Did a little sanding on the parts I painted and it went on great. Spray is strong and even and doesnt run even when put on a little heavy.

Yes, I recommend this product.
