Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for multiple purposes I bought this product to seal all the new steel bridge surfaces. It has lasted for several years, even on to deck surface. It also retards rust process. To maximize performance, this time am priming deck surfaces with industrial primer and then resealing entire bridge with same bedliner product. It is an excellent product.

While we recommend applying our Rust-Oleum Automotive Truck Bed Coating Black, 1 gal with a sprayer, it can also be applied with a high-quality brush or solvent resistant foam roller.

I just purchased a new trailer from Tractor Supply, can I apply over the paint on trailer ?

Asked by: wormey
Happy to help! Rust-Oleum Automotive Tuck Bed Coating is a multi-purpose coating for truck beds, fenders, step areas, trailer floors and more. For the best performance, we recommend applying to a metal surface or a previously coated surface. Make sure to sand the entire truck bed surface with medium grit sandpaper or scuff pad and thoroughly clean the surface with detergent and water. The surface then needs to be rinsed and allowed to dry thoroughly before applying the product.

how much does 1 gal. cover, short bed? long bed?. How many square feet?

Asked by: jtiii
Happy to clear things up! How thick the coating is applied, can affect the coverage of Rust-Oleum Automotive Truck Bed Coating. At 3.4-3.9 m2 /l, the recommended coverage is 140-160 square feet per gallon. At 0.85-1.0 m2 /l, the recommended coverage is 35-40 square feet per gallon. It should be noted that for maximum durability, 2-4 coats are recommended depending on how the coating is applied.

I assume this is not a product that requires a catalyst/hardener. Is that correct?

Asked by: Jack CXI
Great question, Jack! Rust-Oleum Automotive Truck Bed Coating is a ready-to-use product. We do not recommend adding anything to it since it can affect the performance and drying of the product. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Can you apply top coat for different colors

Asked by: Donald font
Happy to help, Donald. Rust-Oleum Automotive Truck Bed Coating Paint is designed for recoating and restoring worn, unfinished or previously finished metal truck beds black polymer coating and helps prevent truck bed damage caused by scratches, rust, and weather. We don't recommend applying a top coat of a different color because it will not have the same properties as this product and will cause the surface to not hold up as well on the surface. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5
