Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and does a reasonably good job Got the roof in and out of together and into the dog run just in time for it to pour down rain. Tightened up some straps and all it working well. Very glad we got it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What color is the roof top? Online it shows dark grey, on the box it is light grey and in the pamphlet it is blue. I would like the blue one. How do I choose the color?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cables are terrible Bought it two days ago. Very first cable pulled through the factory crimp.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not excellent, but the best available for the cost We own 4 of these lodge kennels. Each of them are 10x10 with sun screens, 2 rotating feeders, and roof covers (the product I am reviewing here). Assembly of the roof cover is nearly self explanatory. The instructions aren’t thorough, but illustrate the assembly well enough to where you can put it together and install it. The good: •It blocks rain well. •It blocks noon sun. (Morning and afternoon sun may require sun screen pannels) •It stays in place. The not so good: •The crimps on the cable by the turn buckles do not hold the cable once adequate tension is applied. I’ve had to reinforce them with 4 wire rope clips - just like the ones (part#11) used to fasten the cable (part#10) to the cross rails (part#1). •There is not enough tension available to keep the cover from collecting rain. You can observe this by just visiting the store where they have display models. I wanted to do some foam or plastic underpayment to support the cover by the rails, but we came up with a solution to support the cover: clothesline or small rope that basically runs parallel to the cross rails. One of our four roofs still collects a little water in a heavy storm, but not gallons like the display at the stores we’ve seen. •After a year, the cover doesn’t repel water as well as it did at first. Before I buy a replacement, I may use some kind of treatment (like scotch-guard) to strengthen its water-resistant property. This is to be expected after enduring the weather day after day. With all this being said, this kennel and its roof cover are the best on the market for the price. Like I said, we own 4 of them...and I would purchase a 5th Retreiver Lodge kennel if I needed it.

If I get longer bolts and secure the roof to the Tarter kennel that way - that should work right?

Asked by: olek
Longer bolts can’t hold the clamp tight because there is a difference between the diameter of the roof tube and the tube of Tarter kennel.

will this fit a 10x10 chain link kennel?

Asked by: BDRTK9
Yes, it will work if the following are all true: a. Frame tube diameter is 3mm (1.25”) b. The width is at least 30mm (1.18”) (so that the clamp can grab on). c. The height is less than 32mm (1.25”) (due to the length of the clamp).
