We know you want your kennel to look great and last a long time, so we galvanized our steel and gave it a powder coated finish. That will guard against corrosion from harsh chemicals or the gnawing of sharp teeth. And when you're ready to expand, Tarter makes it easy. Just add on with 6 x 5 and 6 x 10 side panels, an optional two-door front panel and even a shade cover for additional comfort and protection. And they all come with heavy-duty top and bottom kennel clamps, making it simple to give your animals room to roam. This kennel helped save my dogs' lives.

We got this kennel new last summer. We were thrilled when we saw how how durable it appeared and have been very happy with it. Last night, in Virginia, with temperatures in the single digits and wind chills nearing -20 degrees, our Great Pyrenees momma and 8 puppies (working livestock guardian dogs) were huddled snugly in their XXL dogloo (Great Dane sized). In the early morning hours, a severe wind burst blasted our treeline, and a tall, mature tree came crashing down on our kennel, destroying it, and came to a rest on top of the Petsafe Dogloo dog house. I truly believe that the quality of this kennel absorbed the majority of the impact and helped saved my dogs' lives. The kennel is completely destroyed and not salvageable but my dogs are alive and well. We are faced with the cost of replacing the kennel and dog house but are so thankful that it was there when we needed it most.

I bought 12 of these kennels a few years ago and really liked them at first. I was told that the powder coating finish would not rust. Now virtually every kennel has rusted out bottom rails and several rusted out vertical tubes. When I wrote Behlen about the problem they didn't even respond. Half of the gate latches no longer work correctly so I have to use bungie cords to hold the gates closed. I paid a lot of money for this kennel set up including pouring concrete and installing a galvanized roof over the entire assembly. Now in order to replace all the rusted out panels I will have to disassemble the roof and spend a lot more money to buy quality panels or pay to have someone make new ones.
If I had known that the "Powder Coating Claim" of not rusting was a lie I would have never bought them to begin with. I wish now I had just paid a fencing company to build the same configuration out of galvanized tubing and galvanized 2x4 mesh panels.

Bent, rusted and overpriced. Gate lock stuck within one month. Wiring bent by forklift loading item onto delivery truck. Product sat outside long enough to have serious rust at joints. Door lock jammed within one month of installation. Store staff are unfamiliar with product handling.
