After trying just about every type of feed, and numerous "weight gain" supplements for my aged gelding, this feed finally put some healthy weight on him! (I was literally at my wit's end!) I also feed it to my "teen" horses, to maintain their weight. And, happily, I've been able to cut down at least a quarter of the amount of feed I had been giving them. My "old guy" is looking better than he's looked in quite a while! The price is not bad, either. It a win/win for all of us!

Not all as it seems

Sugar content was higher than expected. My horse was recovering from laminitis, this product was advertised as controlled sugar and starch. Well, it wasnt as controlled as the other brand i used for my mare. Purina, set her back within 2 days. Since removing her from this fed, shes recovering. I would not recommend this brand for horses with laminitis.

I have a very sensitive 30 something year old Spanish Mustang. This is the only grain that has not upset his digestive system. All my other horses thrive on it as well!

Great Feed!

I changed my horses over to Purina Smart Edge over a year ago. Each horse craves the next bite of feed. It dissolves easily for my horse that drops a lot of food. All three maintain their weight well on this feed, even throughout the Winter months. Their coats are healthy and shiny. I love that this feed is available locally and I don't have to have it shipped, and it is cost effective.
