I buy this as a whitetail supplement. It's the only mineral block I've found that has dicalcium phosphate, which is important in the development of antler growth according to Mississippi State University's deer lab and other sources. I've had good success, depending on the condition of the local deer herd. If they're not getting all the minerals they currently need in their diet, they will tear it up. If they are already getting what they need, they pretty much leave it alone. I put out several blocks last year on our 520 acre farm. At one location I had to replace the block three times from early spring to late fall because the deer loved it so much. At another location about a mile away, they didn't touch it. The block remained in place until late spring the following year when they gobbled up what was left in two weeks time and dug a hole six inches into the ground trying to get every last bit. I don't have the time or inclination to do any kind of scientific research as to whether this mineral block actually increases antler size. I just know that it attracts deer and I hope it makes for a healthier heard at the same time.

Bought this thinking I was getting something better for my cattle than the usual mineral block. Put it in the block tray in the evening when doing chores. Next day it's al over the place broke into many pieces. Complete and total waste. The usual blocks are hard and you'd have to drop it to break it. These are much softer and will crumble easily. Was a complete waste of time/money.
