Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke apart first day Bought this thinking I was getting something better for my cattle than the usual mineral block. Put it in the block tray in the evening when doing chores. Next day it's al over the place broke into many pieces. Complete and total waste. The usual blocks are hard and you'd have to drop it to break it. These are much softer and will crumble easily. Was a complete waste of time/money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for sheep Good mineral block for sheep. Contains no copper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Goats Love It It is soft enough my goats can eat it easily. Easy for me than messing with loose minerals. If is safe for my sheep as well. Only issue is some of the Indiana stores don't want to stock it for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for sheep and goats I like these for sheep and goats cause they are softer than most so they can eat enough to meet their requirements. Also nice for a mixed herd of sheep and goats. Use a copper bolus or other method to meet goats' requirement for copper since the sheep can't have much copper.

I have used the 222834599 General Mineral Block for 8 years for my goats and donkeys.  They are together so all use the same mineral block.  After reading  reviews I'm concerned.  Is there another mineral block good for both goats and donkeys?

Asked by: Dakota48
We don’t have a mineral block that is good for both species

Would this be a good product for deer?

Asked by: Bone Collector
You can use the Gen Purpose block for deer since it has no copper in it. I always state that it is not recommended for deer since it is not the specific nutrition deer need. That’s just a warning, however, it will not harm the deer.

Is this a 'soft' (bite-off) block, or hard like a salt (lick) mineral block? I gave my 10 sheep a 'soft' mineral block once, & it was GONE in an hour! Thanks.

Asked by: Doboy2
It is a hard block that they have to lick although they will try to bite it.

can you feed this to horse, donkey, and mule

Asked by: mixed cattle
This product is not recommended for equine consumption. This feed can be manufactured in the same facilities as products with medications that are not safe for horses and become cross-contaminated. In Addition, this product does not have copper, so it is not ideal for horses. It is intended for mixed herds that include sheep. A better choice for feeding horses would be the DuMOR Horse Block (sku # 222227699).
