There are three major issues I found with this ramp that affect my rating of only 1 star. 1. It was difficult to follow the printed instructions for assembly. I worked for over an hour and finally resorted to searching for a You Tube video. I found one and watched it closely to determine how it needs to be put together. 2. The wood top brace and the wood trim on the bottom panel slip around on wood floors. There was no way my dog could have used it safely. I have placed slip-free mats under those two pieces to resolve the problem temporarily until I find suitable rubber pieces that will prevent slipping. Recommendation: Considering the price, this is something that PetSafe should consider including for those consumers who have no carpeting or rugs on their hard floors. 3. The carpeting on the ramp does not prevent the dog slipping on the ramp. I know they suggest trimming the hair between the dog's pads but this did not resolve the problem for my senior French Bulldog. I am fortunate that he is not easily intimidated and is willing to try again, but only after I get rubber stair treads to strategically place and adhere on top of the carpeted ramp. Some dogs, once their feet slip out from underneath them on the ramp would not give it a second try. Recommendation: PetSafe should make the ramp truly non-slip and could most likely be done so it does not increase the price.

Problem 1: Assembly was challenging. Need better instructions. After a hour of no success, I watched a YouTube video very closely to finally figure it out. Would be helpful to label braces with which direction the pieces need to be placed as placing in the correct direction is crucial, otherwise holes don’t line up. Problem 2: with wood floors the wood brace and bottom edge slip and slide not staying in place. I do not have rugs on my wood floors as they are a tripping hazard for my husband. I resolved that issue by putting a small non-skid rug under the two ends of the ramp that make contact with the floor. I strongly suggest PetSafe add rubber on the bottom wood trim and the brace. Such a simple thing to do that would resolve the need for customer work around. 3: Problem 3: The carpeting on the ramp does not offer enough traction for my senior French Bulldog to walk up the ramp. Trimming hair between pads did not resolve the issue. For now I am waiting on some adhesive rubber stair treads to apply on the bottom and middle sections of the ramp to offer him grip. PetSafe needs to figure this out because some dogs that slip the very first time will not make another attempt at using the ramp. All-in-all, unless one is willing to devise work arounds for the problems listed, I do not recommend this product. Work arounds by consumers should not have to be done given the cost of the product.

A great and just what I needed for my chair that everyone (3-4 dogs) wants to be in with me. Perfect height for the chair. Seems strong and sturdy. I may have to order another one for in my computer room.
