    Cat Door

Disappointed that one side had screws and the other side way cheap double sided tape. Didn't give enough todo the entire cat door

No, I do not recommend this product.

We're so sorry to hear that this door installation was not to your preferences! As this door is designed solely to be used indoors, it does attach a bit different from doors designed for use on exterior doors. When used and installed as intended, the installation tape should hold the opposing side of the frame firmly in place.

So that we can fully understand the difficulty you had with having enough tape for your door and see how we can help, please reach out to us, Debbie! Our number is 1-800-732-2677, and our hours are Monday through Friday 8 A.M.- 7 P.M. EST. PetSafe

    Appalling design and construction!

It is unthinkable that you even sell a cat door of this poor quality. 1) I'm not a carpentry dummy, but there's not enough room from the upper drill holes to the template opening. I was lucky to get one of the upper two screws attached to wood. 2) But more importantly - POOR LATCH DESIGN! - 2a. The door must be perfectly plum for the latches to be on the correct side of the door to operate correctly. Makes it too easy to misjudge whether the flap is operating as set. Too easy for the cat to be trapped on the wrong side of the door!!! That is potentially dangerous, leaving the animal vulnerable, or without food or water. 2b. You can't "trust" the settings: The slider latch setting doesn't work well, doesn't slide well, gets caught between settings, nubs don't always move into correct up or down position, correlating with slider position. It's too hard to "read" the correct setting, which setting it's on. Unless you've set it to swing both ways, you have to go on the other side of the door to verify if it's operating the way you set it. Appalling construction. Unfortunately, I bought this from my local pet store - for an additional $12!

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Poor design

I have purchased this door on 2 different occasions. The first time it was installed in my interior basement door. It worked at first but the little “nubs/pins” that are used to control the flap are too short. I had pet bunnies upstairs and my dog was downstairs… my dog (10 lb mini dachshunds) was able to push the flap open even though it was in the locked on both sides position. This resulted in one of my rabbits being killed because I wasn’t in the room. I recently purchased this same door again against my better judgment and now my 9 month old kittens are able to push enough to get the flap open. I believe this is a very poor design as the flap locks have failed on me twice. People should be aware that this door is not substantial enough to truly keep pets from getting through it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

4-way door ok but not great

This is my second Pet Safe 4-Way Locking cat door. Installation was easy because I knew it would fit the hole in my door. The reason I give it only 3 of 5 stars is because of the sliding lock. Its plastic, like the door, but the positions for each type of lock aren't stable. I have chosen to keep it in one position so there isn't the flexibility I want but it works fine this way.
