I ordered 10 live guinea chicks Wednesday March 25th online. They were supposed to arrive by the end of the day Saturday March 28th. They arrived Wednesday April 1st all dead. I called Tractor supply online Sunday March 26th but was told USPS shipping not available on Sundays. Also was told Hoovers hatchery was closed on Sunday. I called USPS Monday March 27th and was told they had been mailed low priority. Called Tractor supply online and they contacted Hoover Hatchery and they said they feared they were dead. Tractor supply online offered to resend them or give my money back. I chose return my money. Nothing yet (4/8/26). I blame myself for ordering animals online. Also disappointed they were mailed low priority and without food or water.

So I have 23 other babies we bought locally from several places and none of them died, they’re growing and healthy. Out of the 10 we purchased to be shipped, all but 3 died in the first 2 days. I don’t think it’s necessarily a hatchery issue as we have purchased babies in store from Tractor Supply, I think it’s just the difficulty of them being shipped. I would definitely try to purchase in store. We had these shipped to our local post office. I knew it was a risk, but I shouldn’t have shipped them, those babies didn’t deserve that and it was a waste of money

4 out of 10 survived the first 48 hrs. I have been told more are on the way. But I was also told I was sent two emails to confirm. Looking forward to seeing the replacements. Maybe.
