Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I bought this 1-1/2 years ago so I would know if someone drove in our yard when I was in the basement. We ended up getting a 2nd base unit for upstairs which my granddaughters refer to as the doorbell. We live in the country with a mile long driveway and I find it reassuring to have a heads up when someone comes to the house. We live in ND where winters are brutal, this has never failed. It works no matter the depth of snow. Alerts to cars, trucks, tractors and atvs. Animals and wind do not set this off like with motion sensor alarms that are mounted above ground.

We live in the country with our power lines & transformer all above ground,(over head) right next to our driveway and county road. Will the magnetic sensor still work right below the overhead power lines?

Asked by: Kersten
Hi Kersten, those should not interrupt the Wireless Driveway Alarm being they are not moving parts or moving metal masses.

I need an alarm that will only alert if a car or person passes through my gate opening. Is this the alarm for me?

Asked by: Isit
Hi, this alarm only alerts you when a large metal mass such as a vehicle, motorcycle, ATV, etc. passes through the driveway alarm's electromagnetic field. This sensor does not alert you when people or animals are in the sensor's field of detection.
