The MIBRO 12-28 and 1/4-28 NF Plug Taps are designed for cutting new or restoring existing internal threads in compatible holes. These heavy-duty plug taps are made from quality tool steel for durability in threading and repair applications. A titanium nitride coating helps reduce friction for smoother operation and extended tool life. The first 3 to 5 threads are tapered to help the tap start straight and accurately. Both taps feature National Fine (NF) threads, which provide a finer thread pattern commonly used where greater thread engagement and secure fastening are desired. These taps are suitable for maintenance, repair, automotive, and general-purpose threading applications.
