Q: Is this cylinder suited to be used as a top link on class 2 hitches.

  • A: 1. Is this cylinder set up for class 1 or class 2 hitches? These are general compact equipment use equipment cylinders with a column load rating of 5300lbs. 2. Is this cylinder suited to be used as a top link on class 2 hitches. We have specific cylinders for toplink set ups. 218567 and 218566 are both 2.5” bore x1.25” rod and 10” stroke and have a 14720lb column load 3. What size boar do I need when using as a class 1 top link on a rear mounted bail roller? They would need to use their load requirements to choose the proper size cylinder.

  • A: Hi Runa1, Thanks for reaching out. Here is the information we received from our vendor- The WSB series wasn’t specifically designed for that use and it isn’t set up to work on a Class 1 or 2 hitch.

They work fine for my use that I needed them for wish they had an adjustment to make the shaft a few inches shorter or longer as needed

Welded cylinder

I have 3 of these cylinders, everyone has leaked after 25 or 30 hours. I have installed new seals in all of them, no problems since resealed.

No, I do not recommend this product.
