Q: What is the drive time between coats by sprain

  • A: Majic Oil Base Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamels are very hard drying, corrosion resistant oil/alkyd coatings that offer excellent adhesion and durability. The average dry time for Majic T&I School Bus Yellow is set-to-touch @ 2 hours, tack-free @ 9 hours…the allowable recoat time is 24 hours. These recorded dry times are based on product application of 3.0 mils wet, @ 77° F. (air, surface and product temps) with relative humidity (RH) ≤ 50%. Application in lower temperatures, and/or higher humidity may slow the dry, and allowable recoat time. Please read, and follow, application instructions carefully with special attention to the recommended applied thickness (2.5 - 3.0 mils wet), and the minimum allowable recoat times. Too heavy an application, and/or re-coating too soon, will likely result in a film that won’t dry “hard” for several days…or longer.

Q: what temp thinner do you use to spray paint

1 Answer
  • A: The only solvent we can recommend to reduce Majic Tractor & Implement coatings is Majic Reducer, #8-0750. Majic Reducer is a proprietary blend of “exempt” solvents that mix perfectly with the solvent structure of Majic T&I Coatings – exempt solvents will add 0 VOC to the host product, and allows the host to remain VOC compliant. The recommended rate of reduction is 8:1 (8 parts of Majic T&I Enamel to 1 part Majic Reducer). This is not to say other solvents wouldn’t work to reduce Majic Tractor & Implement products (such as Mineral Spirits, or VM&P Naptha, and both available @ TSC stores) – but we cannot recommend a product that will knock the host product out of VOC compliancy, and both of those other solvents will.

Bad paint

I bought this paint to apply over a coat of their sandable primer. After waiting forever for the primer to dry I sprayed this to the manufactures mixing specs with there products only. The paint went on descent. I left it to dry. 12 hours later it looked good. 2 days later it looked horrible. All the paint that I had sprayed looked wrinkled. And after 1 week I was still able to pull it off by hand. It had almost zero adhesion. I used all of there products from start to finish. I will never buy magic products again. The brand they used to carry was so much superior to this stuff. I have never sprayed a worse paint in my life.
