Wow what a great product!!

As the business owner of D&S Auto body and detailing I recently wanted to try a new product as I have on my personal shop vehicle and wow what a great job it does. This paint process takes a little more time to do but for the money you save and the outcome you get is really worth the wait! I will continue to research and use this product as I called the factory direct and got great service and advice from them on steps to take with this product! Thanks again

Big disapointment

after painting my third tractor with Rust-oilum equiptment oil base paint , I tried this brand with a poor drying time even after using the reducer and gloss enhancer they sell.. an added cost.. and still soft after 3 weeks of dry , 70 deg.weather I mixed to a spray viscosity and didn't have any problems with spraying to a high gloss , wet out coat without any runs or fisheyes and after 2 days, it remained soft to the touch. my next move will be to wet sand it again and re shoot with my old stand-by !! would I recommend this to anyone..only if you have a lot of time to watch paint dry....NOT !! sorry guys, not this time.

Great value. Need to read up on it before using.

I used this paint to repaint a SAAB 900 turbo. It worked as expected, but I would like to pass on a few tips that I found online and/or by experience which make the results much more consistent. FWIW, I used an inexpensive HVLP spray gun with a very good oil-free air supply and a disposable desiccator at the gun to ensure no oil or water contamination. Ran about 25-30 PSI. If your results look rough, like stucco, you are using way too much pressure. Use the hardener. As noted by others, this stuff will not dry satisfactorily without it. It is very important to mix the paint correctly. First add the hardener in exactly the recommended ratio, then let it sit for 25 minutes in order for the conversion process to take place. This is important for proper drying. And wear a mask. Not just for Covid. Be sure to use a proper isocyanate rated cartridge painters mask when spraying this stuff with the hardener. Use the reducer. Add it after the 25 minute wait for the hardener. The recommended ratio is for an old-style siphon type sprayer. I found that increasing the reducer by 50% allowed for much smoother spraying and less orange peel when using a modern HVLP gun. Use the recommended clear coat. Apparently this paint will not hold color or gloss well without it. Use a paint can shaker. I used a cheapo Chinese pneumatic one, but you could just use the one at your local hardware store. The paint tends to separate badly in storage. Particularly the primer. It would be nearly impossible to get a good result from just stirring it. Have patience. I allowed 48 hours between base coats and 2 weeks before the 1st clear coat, then 48 hours before the 2nd clear coat. Scuff sand between coats. I used 400 wet or dry (wet) between base coats and 800 scotchbrite pads (also wet) between clear coats. Practice. If your 1st coat looks like crap, sand it smooth and try again. It may take a while to get it all right. But you will and it will all be good in the end. Do NOT use prep solvent between coats of clear. It works just fine for cleaning before the 1st coat and between dried (48 hour) base coats, but it will turn the clear coat sticky even after 48 hours. Just use plain water and lint free rags if cleaning is needed between clear coats.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Horrible Paint

I bought this paint to put on a side door that gets lots of abuse. I put the paint on the door in mid 70 degree weather. 3 day later I’m still waiting for the paint to dry. I put it on in two coats with 24 hours of dry time in between each coat.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not worth spending the money!!

I read the reviews on multiple websites and got mixed reviews. I've been restoring a 1957 Ford tractor. Spent 2 months prepping, primer and painting. Used all Majic products reducer, hardner, primer and paint. I live in South Texas and the heat couldn't even make the paint harden. I tried adding a few ounces more than recommended of hardner, didn't help. The only thing I've been able to do to make all this work hold up is spend more money on clear coat since that does harden. Stay away from this paint.
