Q: Why dose water lighten the color, I can really see water spots after the rain
7 months ago- A: Hi Neighbor- Why water spots form Minerals in water: Tap and rain water contain minerals like calcium and magnesium that are left on the surface after the water evaporates. Paint is still curing: The paint you applied is likely still "curing," meaning it hasn't reached its full hardness. This makes the surface more vulnerable to water spots. Evaporation: As the water pools and then evaporates, it leaves the mineral deposits behind, causing a cloudy or white discoloration7 months agoHelpful?
Q: Is your clear coat any shiner, I used the new ford new holland blue and it's kinda between glossy and matt Finnish. I am not happy with the results
7 months ago- A: Hi Neighbor- Yes, Majic clear coat will be shinier than the Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamel paint alone because it is a high-gloss, protective topcoat. The enamel paint is formulated to dry to a high gloss finish, but the clear coat adds a further layer of gloss and depth.7 months agoHelpful?

Q: Will this work on fiberglass busses?
5 years ago- A: Painting fiberglass requires that the surface be clean, dry and free of all loose & flaking paint, or any surface contaminants that may affect the primer’s ability to adhere tightly to fiberglass – it is also recommended that scuff sanding fiberglass with a medium grit paper (120-150 grit) to create a profile for a better mechanical bond between the primer and fiberglass. For painting bare fiberglass, we do recommend an application of Majic Sandable Gray Primer, or Red-Oxide Rust-Inhibiting Primer before an application of Majic T&I New Ford Blue (#8-2929). Please read, and follow, label directions carefully regarding application of Majic T&I Primers and Enamels, with special attention to the recommended applied thickness, and allowable re-coat times – too heavy an application, and/or re-coating too soon will result in a film that won’t dry “hard” for several days…or longer.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: I'm gonna spray this using a HVLP gravity fed spray gun... What is the optimal mixing ratio with the majic reducer?
6 years ago- A: Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamel is a high solids alkyd enamel that needs to be reduced for spray application. The recommended ratio for reduction is 8:1 (8 parts of Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamel to 1 part Majic Reducer). Magic Reducer is a proprietary blend of "exempt" solvents that allow the host product to remain VOC compliant.. Please remember that when spraying Majic T&I Enamels, it is critical to apply in very thin coats (recommended 2.5 mils wet), and allow a full 24 hours to dry between coats. Too heavy an application, and/or re-coating too soon will result in a film that won't dry "hard" for several days...or longer.6 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can you add paint thinner to the paint and if so how much plus the hardener?
7 years ago- A: When mixing Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamels, add Majic Catalyst Hardener, to Majic T&I Enamel, at a 16:1 ratio (16 parts Majic Enamel to 1 part Catalyst Hardener), and stir thoroughly. Allow converted product set, undisturbed, for 20-30 minutes (“sweat-in”/induction time). Following the induction time, converted product may be reduced, with Majic Reducer, at an 8:1 ratio (8 parts Majic Reducer to 1 part Majic T&I Enamel), for spray application (slightly less for brush/roll application). Majic Reducer is a proprietary blend of “exempt” solvents that add 0 VOC to the host product, and allows the product to remain VOC compliant. Solvents, such as Mineral Spirits, will work to reduce Majic T&I Products with, but may move the product out of compliancy. Paint Thinner, or Mineral Spirits, may be used to clean tools, equipment and spills with… Remember when mixing Catalyst Hardener to follow all mixing, safety and disposal directions carefully. When painting with Majic T&I Enamels, be sure to apply in thin coats (recommended 2.5 mils wet), and allow 24 hours to dry between coats (minimum)…Too heavy an application, and/or re-coating too soon, may result in an applied film that won’t dry “hard” for several days…or longer.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: Does this paint do ok with a thinner so that it can be used in a pneumatic paint sprayer
7 years ago- A: A Pneumatic Paint Sprayer could be categorized as a couple different types of spray…(1) Conventional (spray gun, powered by an air compressor), or (2) Air-assisted Airless Spray. Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Coatings may be applied by either an Air assisted Airless Sprayer, is still an airless sprayer, and puts out an awful lot of paint in a very short time. This is an issue with Majic T&I Coatings as they are designed to be applied in a very thin application (2.5 mils wet), and that may be difficult to maintain with a powerful spray, such as an air assisted airless (remember, too heavy an application may result in a film that won’t dry “hard” for several days…or longer). We assume you are referring to a conventional unit. If so, this is actually the preferred method of application with Majic T&I Coatings. Pressure will need to be set at about 30# (+/- depending on equipment), and spray with a 1.4 mm needle (1.6 for primers). Material should be reduced at a ratio of 8:1 for spray application (8 parts Majic T&I Coating to 1 part Majic Reducer, #8-0750) for best atomization and to reduce, or eliminate, “orange peel” texture. The 8:1 ratio for reduction is a +/- ratio, and may need to be adjusted, up or down, depending on equipment, atmospheric conditions at the time of application, and your own personal preferences….8:1 is a good place to start. Critical to the success of any coatings application is strict adherence to the application directions printed on the product label, and the Tech Data Sheet (available, by request, through info@MajicPaints. com)… and as earlier mentioned, Too heavy an application, and/or re-coating too soon will result in a film that won’t dry “hard” for several days or longer.7 years agoHelpful?
