- A: You must anchor your shed to keep your warranty intact. Failure to anchor the shed may result in property damage and/or personal injury. You can find instructions on how to anchor your shed toward the back of the assembly manual. You can download that beforehand from lifetime.com under the model number. Additional hardware may be required for anchoring your shed. You must also provide a platform on which to assemble your shed. Proper building permit documentation may be required in your neighborhood. Consult all local building codes prior to assembling the shed. Before beginning assembly, you must pour or construct a platform. There are two types: *Concrete *Wood Frame. Select the type, but know the surface must be level and flat before installation. If the surface is not properly leveled and flat, the shed will not assemble correctly. Proper surface leveling will save you time in the long run, so please don’t ignore this step. We recommend a Concrete platform. It will be the most durable and long-lasting choice. The platform you choose must be built above ground in order to avoid water pooling inside the shed. All lumber must be rated for outdoor use. Detailed instructions on how to construct a proper platform can be found in the product manual which can be downloaded at www.lifetime.com. As many customers have stated shed is of good quality and panels fit together and align well. Took two skilled people about two and a half days to build. However the directions do not match the part bag numbers meaning you have to guess in some cases making the build take longer than it has to. This is ironic because this model #60318 has been around for at least 5 years meaning that either the part numbers changed or the instruction manual changed and neither was updated to match the other. If someone one from Lifetime would open the box they ship to customers they would find out very quickly that the above description is true. So they either haven’t done that or just don’t care. For something with that price point and length of time to build the instructions should be crystal clear. Also there should be an updated video for this model shed because it has been around a while. There has clearly been some engineering changes done since its inception. This is not a product problem, rather a company/people problem. It could easily be corrected if the instructions matched the part numbers inside the boxes. It is quite a nice shed when it’s put together, but I can’t rate it more than 3 stars until the company makes the necessary changes to the assembly instructions manual!

Nice looking shed!

We bought this one year ago. Health issues prevented us from putting it up any sooner. My wife and I were finally able to assemble it. Assembly was a bit more complex than anticipated. We do not have a smart phone to use the scan things in the book. Videos on the computer were not really that helpful for what we needed to know while assembling it. Some did not seem to pertain to our model/product ID. We got it up. It looks good. We hope that it will last many years. We poured a slab of concrete for it to rest on.

Nice shed..looks very nixe in yard

I bought in April, was delivered very quickly..3 days. I am a pretty skilled guy and it took me two full days with help on second day to final assemble. Shed is really nice, surprisingly very solid in trusses. Only issue i had was with a truss support on the Front Gable, the brace was too short, thus i made a new one. Was a little frustrating because I tried to help lifetime and e plain this piece was too short and got resistance. The brace was to tie 3 trusses together to support the gable, however it wasn't long enough to reach. It wouldn't even reach on the sidewalk where the trusses are located, so obviously not correct length. However, with custom piece I was able to build rest of shed, it looks really nice and I am very happy with it. I would highly recommend putting on concrete slab as I did. I would also recommend anchoring floor before you start to build, as this made it so much easier. The directions say to do it at the end. Another reommendation for the owners manual. The box content is located in the middle of the directions, this should be seperated or in the front of manual. I struggled to know what was in each box. If I knew this it would have been much easier to organize for sub assembly. I also found it easier to support walls with tent stake and string will assembling side walls as it was very windy and this was very helpful to prevent wind from damaging back wall.
